Kids These Days...

Post by Sister Salvation »

Sister Salvation stood in the library. Bright sunlight reflecting off the mirrored lenses of her aviator glasses as the pale smoke from her confiscated cigarette curled around her face. Watching the students in the commons grass area outside of her window, she laughed a bit. A short laugh of amusement, "They are a group of out-casts and loaners trying to figure out how to get along as a group of students." She told no one at all.

"They all sit in their far corners, watching dutifully for someone to come up and just talk to them, make an effort to get to know who they really are, maybe even form a delicate 'friendship' or two along the way." She took another long draw on her cigarette. "Too much responsibility too early in their lives. These are kids trying to figure out what life is, now they have to be heroes on top of it?" Salvation shook her head, a bleach blond strand of hair fell out of the cowl of her habit and she tucked it back in.

"But these are good kids. They aren't going to crack under the strain of it all," she sounded bitter and a little bit sad. "Because these kids all have each other." She laughed and crushed the end of her cigarette against the top of the bookcase near by and went back to work organizing the books that she could care less about.
