Calm Again: Time For Explanations
Kris held on, as her hero, Arrow Wraith, carried her away from the emotional chaos that was growing at the Wingra Tree. She knew it was cheesy, but Tony really was her hero. He never stopped when it came to her. How could she ever repay such dedication, other than her genuine love?
Although, she hated being such a defective waste. It seemed like she was nothing more than one problem, one drama, right after another. He deserved far better. But, whoever tried to get him, wasn't getting him without a fight. Deserved or not, Tony was hers.
Finally, they stopped, somewhere. Not that she was paying attention. It was just Kris and Tony. The rest of the world was now a smudge of non-reality, and secondary importances. She wished this moment would last forever, but with diferent feelings attached to it.
"You're the best, Tony," she said, giving him a kiss, which she thought lasted for the briefest ofmoments. "Now to explain it all... At least from what I've deduced and guessed."

Tony looked at Kris and waited, the sound of the surf only yards away sounded distant after the kiss she had just given him. At least they wouldn't be bothered out here at this time of night...well morning. He knew this was going to be hard to take but needed to hear it all, how ironic that this place meant for fun would have to be used for this topic is what as they stood under the sign that said, "Spanky's Broadwalk".

"Okay," she exhaled. "When I wasn't even born, yet, agents of Arachnos injected mutagens into my mother that made me into what I am. I think it was part of a plan to make the entire population of the Isles de Etoille superpowered. It failed. The bots were stillborn, and the mothers either died or were made barren by the process."
"As a failsafe mechanism to prevent the rise of heroes, Arachnos, or so I'm theorizing, included a dormant genetic virus. When my powers activated, the virus wrote itself according to my genes, and thus became non-contaigeous. That virus is Grier's Syndrome, an as of yet, incurable disease, outside of the Isles de Etoille. Until now."
"If I heard her right, there's a doctor in Paragon City who can cure me, maybe. And, the snags will be price and his being hunted by Arachnos agents."
She watched Tony, to see how he was handling it, before continuing to what the disease did. She was both affraid of his reaction, and reassured by his emotions, though she could feel the negative ones spiking in the background.

"Well," she said, looking into his eyes "I mentioned the price, because I knew you could help. I- I really don't want Longbow's money involved in this, the way it'll hapen if I tell mom. And, I imagine he has other patients, Tony. We can't just make this guy disappear, but you are amazing for offering it!"
Kris slowly became aware of the boardwalk. The moon was beautiful, tonight, and just standing there with Arrow made her feel beautiful, too.

As Tony gazed into Kris's eyes standing there in the moonlight, he thought to himself again just how beautiful she was..inside and out. For the world to lose someone as special as her would be a crime...one he wouldn't allow even if the price was he own life... He whispered over the sound of the water,"I love you, Kris"

"I know," she smiled. "And, I feel the same way. Even when you're not here. Just with a touch of sadness that you're not. We'll make it. We can do it. I promise!"
A troubled looke came to her face, and she looked back to Tony.
"I... I have something to tell you. You won't like it. Heck! I don't like it! In fact I wish I had never been a part of the whole mess."

"I went to Pocket D, recently. I saw Karl there, and decided to speak to him," she started, feeling his displeasure at the mention of being in the same place as Karl. "We spoke, and I discovered he and Nieves were having relationship difficulties. I decided to comfort him, hoping to give advice, but something differenct happened. He felt... empassioned, and..."
Kris' eyes filled with tears.
"I kissed him," she admitted, her heart feeling its own agony for the event. "I didn't seek him out for it, and don't like him like that. Stasis thought it was a spell. I think it was the disease keeping me from filtering that out. I'm so sorry, Arrow..."
Kris felt so helpless, and lowered her head in defeat.

Arrow Wraith stood there for a minute just stareing at her and trying to wrap his mind around this new piece of information. Karl? She kissed him...and not the other way around? Was it the disease or something else? He focused his will on controlling himself as his grandfather had taught him long ago, he took a deep breath before he spoke.

Kris felt so ashamed. It wasn't as if it was something she consciously decided to do. But, she knew how it looked, and she knew that the rumors were still there. This was out of her hands now, and everything she ever wanted from life was on the line. Why did she ever decide to go to Pocket D that night? She felt the emotions coming from Arrow, and closed her eyes. She fully expected the worst to come, now.

"I understand," she nodded and whispered, unable to make eye contact with him.
Kris wished that she could just die at that moment. The one person she would rather die than hurt had been hurt by her own actions. Tears fell, like sad droplets, too slow to be rain, from her cheeks.

"Oh, God! I'm so sorry," she cried as the words came out. "I never meant to do it! I didn't want to! It just happened..."
The redhead clung to Arrow Wraith, hoping against hope that somehow they might make it through this. She hated this. She hated the disease. It made her into something she wasn't. But, deep inside, beyond the turmoil, beyond her conscious thoughts and emotions, something grew just a little. She wanted to kill not only her disease, but the person responsible for it.
