Michael leansover in his seat, and deftly produces a comb for her, apparently from mid-air. Franky blinked in surprise, but took the comb anyway.
"Not much, we were just talking about girls, and since you happen to be one..." he grins. "Anyway, what do you need Sister Salvo for?"

Francis laughed.
"Well," she said with a slight blush and a glance between Simon and Michael. "She's ummm...giving me some advice on boys."
"But naturally she pulled one of her little stunts again." With that she held up a dog-eared copy of, Are You There God, It's Me Margaret.
"Real funny, that nun."

"Boys? Hey...that's plural...and...after I gave you that comb and everything!" Michael mock huffs, crossing his arms and affecting a pout.
Simon laughs, as Franky smirks, then expertly smacks Michael on the back of the head.
"Don't be such a dork."
Simon interrupts, "Yeh, Mike heah was trying to give me advice on girls..."

"Don't be such a dork," she chided.
"Yeh, Mike hear was trying to give me advice on girls," Simon interrupted. "But, as Ah was tellin' 'im, Ah didn't actively seek these ladies out. That, and there's really only one Ah'm interested in."
Simon couldn't help but blush, as his heart raced. He could still remember the slick feeling of Annie's hand in his, as he kissed it, after the battle with Lusca.

Simon suddenly became pudding inside. How was he going to talk about this? What could he do, but be honest to the lady?
"Annie? Well... Everysince she and I first spoke, face to face," he sighed. "Her spots! They're.... Beautiful! Not to mention the personality! She's just... She's the first girl I never could find a way to say exactly how she makes me feel. That's how cool and good she is! Either of you want my salad and chicken fingers?"

Misericorde eyes Simon's plate warily.
"No thanks, I don't eat parts of animals that don't normally exist. Last time I checked, chickens don't HAVE fingers."

Annie walked away from the serving area where Madame Lasinfore was ladling out clam chowder. Carefully, the green-skinned girl tried to balance her tray in one hand and keep two
books cradled close to her chest as she held up and read a third title.
The girl's naiveté was legendary at the school, and students still giggled at the Croquet Mallet incident, but this just seemed to be a recipe for disaster today as Biff was on the prowl.
"Hey, guys, check out Little Orphan Annie; looks like she's still trying to learn to be human! Whada ya say we have a little fun, huh?"
Getting up from his table, Biff and a few of his other cronies honed in on their seemingly oblivious target.

Misericorde laughed as Franky shoved him playfully, rolling her eyes. Simon just shook his head at his room-mate; he had learned long ago that his humor was strictly hit-or-miss.
Franky suddenly tugged on Michael's sleeve, "Hey...speak of the devil...isn't that Annie? Maybe she'll come sit with us!" She grinned evilly at Simon, who blushed profusely.
Mike turned to wave at Annie, then spotted the trouble. Saw the kids parting in the lunchroom like gazelle's parted for a predator on the savannah.
Simon would get himself put in traction over his crush on Annie, and would be added to the hit list. Mis knew from experience that the hits would keep on coming like American Bandstand.
He did the only thing he could do.
With a smooth motion, he stood, scooped up a handful of mashed potatos from the tray of a kid passing behind him while spinning in a graceful arc, and launching an unerring missile of tuber goodness past Annie, and directly into the right eye of the most powerfully ranked tanker St. Joseph High School had ever seen.
It was slow motion, and a beauty to behold. The type of event that was spoken of in hallways in hushed whispers for years to come.
The lunch room was silent, deathly silent, as the starches struck Hannigan full on in the face with a thick "splut!"
Annie smiled at Mis, completely oblivious to the scene.
"Hi Mis!" she bubbled.

Simon watched, wide-eyed. When he saw the target, the result, and who was where, his eyes flew open, even wider. He had to get Annie out of there! But, how? His superspeed? No... That might cause an injury with such a proximity issue... Simon sat frozen in indecision and shock at the whole scene that unfolded.

Francis blinked in complete shock. What was it with boys anyway? She'd had every intention of hustling Annie away before the meaty charm of Biff Hannigan got her anymore confused but now....?
Biff blinked in confusion for a brief moment, that quickly became a sizzling rage. A rage, that was now completely focused on Misericorde.
'By the looks of things,' Francis thought, 'Mis is about to live up to his name...unfortunately.'
She carefully rose from the plastic seat. There was no point in getting angry at Biff or telling them to stop.
It was all hormones now.
She glanced around the lunch room and caught sight of Simon hustling Annie to the door.
'Good,' her inner monologue continued, 'Now if only I could find Salvation...before my boy problem is finished without me.'

Just as Misericord throws the potatoes
Seeing Misericord, Francis and Simon sitting at one of the lunch tables, Annie did what she always did when she saw friends.
"Hi Mis!" Annie said in a bubbly voice, flashing her big warm smile at the group.
Biff, on the other hand, had gotten an eyeful of Madam Lasinfore's special Smashed Potatoes, and was not at all happy to have Metro testing his patience once more. He wasn't going to be denied his fun with the bubble-headed ET, but there was no way he was going to let that pretty boy get away with an insult like this.
Shoving his henchmen towards the still clueless Annie, Biff reached over and grabbed a plate of Spagetti Surprise off of a Freshman's tray. "So, you think you're hot stuff, huh Metro? Well, lunch's up!"
Meanwhile, Annie was getting ready to greet Francis and Simon when her books slipped out from under her arm. "Oops!" Immediatly the girl from Tau Ceti Beta bent over, her arm with the tray of food outstretched and her left leg swung swiftly back to counterbalence herself as she balenced on one leg and gathered up her studies. The leg swung back so quickly, however, that it caught one of Biff's hyenas square between the legs as he was rushing up behind her.
The look of pain on that boy’s face could only be described, ironically enough, as otherworldly.

Just before Franky's post...
The decision crystalized. One of Biff's guys just went down, and Biff had the spaghetti, and was mid-throw. A sudden burst of energy flew through Simon, and he became a blur that suddenly appeared next to Annie.
"Hi, Annie! Why don't we go this way," he asked the green-skinned alien. "It's gong to be an interesting sight, and I think you need to watch from the door way. That way you see it all! Truly a marvel to behold!"
Gently, but with the same level of superspeed, Simon moved the two to the doorway of the lunchroom. Grabbing her chowder, he moved it around through the air, to capture it's sloshes, so that none was lost. Setting it back in her stack, Simon smiled.
"You look great today! Is it the chowder? I mean, does it have you in good spirits? Oh! And did you get the fondue pot?"
