Code of Conduct

All current and prospective members of the Saint Joseph School (SJS) community must read and agree to abide by the following Code Of Conduct.

Roleplaying
I have a genuine interest in roleplaying. Any amount of previous experience I may have is not as important as a sincere interest and a willingness to learn. Our shared interest in roleplaying is what brings all of us together at SJS. I will do my best to be a responsible roleplayer.

I recognize that there is a difference between in-character (IC) and out of character (OOC) interactions and I acknowledge the necessity of both. To the best of my ability, I will keep IC and OOC separate and use both to communicate effectively within SJS, both in-game and on the forums.

Community
I understand that SJS is a living community of players. While each member’s place in the community is unique, I recognize that one of my responsibilities is to help the community grow and change in a positive and creative way. While I am part of the SJS community, I will always do my best to enhance the whole group experience, never to disrupt or detract from it. As a member of SJS, I am willing to accept criticism and advice on my conduct and choices in-game and on the forums, just as I understand that I am encouraged to give criticism and advice to others. I will both give and receive criticism in the spirit of building a stronger community for everyone, not just for myself.

Behavior
My conduct while I am a member of SJS reflects on and affects the entire group. I recognize that when I am in game, everything I do and say carries the supergroup's name above my character's head. I will always try to act in a way that reflects well on the reputation of SJS.

I know that City of Heroes and City of Villains are both rated PG-13, and I understand that SJS holds its members to that standard of conduct. I agree to keep my roleplay and language within appropriate boundaries while in public, on chat channels, and on the forums.

I understand that SJS cannot tolerate acts of deliberate harassment of any kind. Even roleplaying must bend to this rule, both in-game and on the forums. I agree to absolutely abstain from any type of discrimination or harassment against any player in City of Heroes and City of Villains. If I feel I am being harassed, it is my responsibility to notify the officers of the group.

SJS does not permit the purposeful or intentional exploitation of bugs or rule mechanics to gain unfair amounts of influence, experience or prestige, and I agree to adhere to that prohibition. I will not powerlevel (PL) or participate in PL in any way while playing my SJS character.

Activity
I recognize that a standard of activity is required to help forge and maintain connections between members of the SJS community. Activity in-game and on the forums is the only way my classmates and I can get to know each other. While I am enrolled at SJS, I agree to roleplay my character at least once every 30 days in game. My forum activity is equally important, and I agree to read the forums regularly so that I am aware of discussions, upcoming events, and policy changes as they are made. I will do my best to participate in votes and discussions that affect the supergroup.

Uniform
I am willing to devote one of my costume choices to the SJS uniform. I understand that this is a requirement that must be fulfilled within 60 days of joining the supergroup. I will proudly wear my uniform at official school gatherings and events to build the unique sense of belonging and identity at SJS.
