When the Man Comes Around... Part 2

Post by Ezekiel Kane »

It was late, the sun had slipped behind the horizon hours ago. Ezekiel had welcomed it at dawn and bid farewell yet still he remained...motionless. He sat on the roofs edge, over-looking the Wingra Tree. He had not shown himself among his classmates since that day... the day she died. How could he, the evil had come because of him... it wanted him to suffer, thus others were made to suffer. He sat alone, lost in his thoughts.

A voice, calm and cold, pierced the silence and with it his heart "are you just going to sit and lament, brother? you were meant for grander things..."

Ezekiel spun around to face his brother, but saw only the emptiness of the night sky. " I...I am sorry brother... what you have done...I cannot forgive this. You must not continue down this path... I will stop you..."

" You are weak Ezekiel, you always have been. This was merely the first step in HIS larger plan. He has looked down upon this facility and those within it. He has passed his judgment...Can you not hear the trumpets, they herald the coming of a world... The Lord has cast his vision upon me, I have seen what he is planning... we are to be the vessels of this vision. Surely you must realise that this is why we were created."

His brothers words chilled him, Ezekiel could not move. He stood frozen by the meaning of what Able said. " Why...there is no reason these people have to suffer... they are good...pure...Why would God punish them?"

"You miss the point little brother, this is not punishment...This is His sermon to the masses... a lesson that must be learned. A lesson that they seem to not understand."

Ezekiel turned his gaze to the heavens... his eyes scanning the sky as if it would reveal the answers he sought. "Leave this place, brother... do not return again...trouble these people no further... you have already stolen their light... what else is there to take?" He didn't wait for an answer, Ezekiel leapt from the rooftop, to the courtyard below.

Solomon's voice drifted through the air above him "where do you think you are going, brother...if you have not yet understood the difference, between life... and me..."

The Second Victim

It was late and Ezekiel quietly made his way back to his room, careful to avoid any unwanted attention. It wasn't all that hard really... people had been avoiding him since the night of the dance, since she was taken... Kane reached the door to his quad and to his surprise found it unlocked.
"how strange...I am certain that it was locked when I left..." he thought. "Perhaps Wachabe or Drago forgot to lock it when they returnd."

The room was dark, but the pale light of the moon shown through the window. There was something lying his bed, something he did not put there. He help the object up, it was a coat long and black.
"Good evening brother" came a cold voice from behind him. Ezekiel did not need to turn around to see his unwelcome guest. "The time has come for another lesson... It seems this school is content to let abominations to His eyes roam freely in His halls."

"What is it that you have done brother...how much more can you take?" Ezekiel asked, not sure if Solomon could hear the fear that carried through in his voice.

"No... this is not about taking or hurting... I have given that sermon.. this was a question of the weak trying to play at being equal with the Lord. But creation of life is for Him alone and not something for mere men to make a mockery of their laboratories... Man does not know what makes even the most bitter mote of a soul....yet still I see the abominations of mankind everwhere is this city...Soulless husks, walking around by the "miricales" of science, they are an affront to Him and I have done His bidding"

"Who have you taken now, this school, it's students... they cannot take more tragedy."

"Worry not brother I have not taken this one, I have left him as an example to the soulless and the non-believers. The body of Crucibus is on display for all to see... look to the tree in the courtyard. Here ends the lesson.."

Ezekiel finally gathered the courage to turn and face his brother. The room was empty. He came and vanished, a wraith in the night. How many more lessons were there to learn. Ezekiel wondered if he would ever wake from the nightmare. His brothers coat still in hand, he made his way to the courtyard...

((Okay. I am going to toss this one up into the air, let's see who catches it.

Too much has happened too quickly, with deaths on campus. We'd get shut down if people knew. I need someone to step up.

Who wants to have gotten to the body first, removed it, and becomes involved with members of the faculty to keep it (sorta) quiet?

We have occasionally hinted that things go on at Saint Joe's and it is someone's job to keep it quiet. This would be a great time to explore that.

Go ahead and do it. Crucibus' detah will be consigned to rumor. I do not think it's a good idea for eveyone to wake up and see blood again.))

((Scruffy took the body away... Right? [kidding]

I mean, when I offered Crucibus to SA I didn't think it was going to be on campus, but an evil part of me is laughing its head off. Actually, wouldn't Kane take care of it? He would probably do so, just to keep things as tranquil as possible. To mute the sermon, so to speak.))

((Ceratinly an option.

But I have actually seriously considered NPC'ing Scruffy more regularly, and having him become a goofy old man with secrets. Deep, deep secrets. He gets to know the secret handshake and everything.))
