"Well, that's the word used. And, looking around, I think they might just be right," she complimented. "It's been awhile since I last saw anything like this in a girl's room. But, mine is a different sort of life, anyway. Nerd on the run."
Kris chuckled at her self-apraisal. It was a sad, but telling truth. Her room was never feminine enough, due to the constant moving, and the government men always preselecting everything. After awhile, she had simply given up on the idea of having lacey, frilly things.
"My tastes, music-wise are with techno and classical. Wild coupling, but it makes sense to me. I want to take up the violin," Kris nodded, with a slight smile. "But, the arrival of my powers put a serious crimp in my plans. All of the moving around made it hard for me to even stay with the harpsichord, but my mother insisted. It's kind of fun, though, when you play boogie woogie on them. The teachers get really irrate."
"I should probably go, now. Letters to write, and sleep to try to get," Kris explained, her days of not sleeping starting to show a little. "I'd really like to just talk sometime. And, maybe learn a thing or two, if you don't mind taking the time."

"Violin, you say?" November repeated with a sudden and avid attentiveness. Kris imagined November's ears perking up behind the cacoons of plastic, metal, and wire that enveloped those organs. She gave a nod and responded, "Yeah. It's such an active instrument, you know? A flautist remains gracefully stoic with her flute, and the oboist just looks like a stern blowfish, but a violinist! Oh! A violinist! She has all the fun with raw emotion and wild movement! I get so crazy with it." November focused on her feet for a second before glancing up, "Yulia plays the violin." She paused. "Yes. It can get very....passionate."
Her cheeks seemed to redden as her thoughts wandered off to the days when both tender-yeared Yulia and she would practice all night alone in the emptied band room. Their friction and sexual tension palpable as they jammed away on their instruments at opposite ends of the room. She recalled the smoldering blue eyes behind the champagne blonde fringe burning into her as the long limbs frantically jerked the violin's bow.
November swallowed, catching Kris's curious gander. "Perhaps," the flushed girl started, "You should get a hold of her sometime." November thought about that regretfully for a second or two, As long as it's strictly business.
Kris's tired eyes softly beamed with interest, "Oh, that'd be lovely! I will definitely get on top of that." November frowned at the ending statement. She grunted, "I hope not literally." Kris's nose scrunched up again. "Pardon?" she asked completely void of any understanding. November cracked a saccharin smile, "Rien, never mind it. Go take a nap. You have bags and circles under your eyes. Put some cucumber slices on them." And with that November slithered off the bed and turned her stereo back on, it was playing some sort of South American/Native American instrumental. The main instrument was definitely of the woodwind family; it was high and airy with the rhythmic thud-thud and jingle of the tambourine. Whatever it was, it was relaxing. "I was just about to start my pilates."

"Alright," Kris smiled again. "Thank you again, November. Merci vraiment!"
Kris turned and quietly left. She could hardly believe the fortune she had with having another conversation with November. The older girls were right. She wasn't such a bad person, at all. When she settled into her room, once more she replied to Arrow's letter:
Dearest Tony,
I would like to try something outside of the norm. It may be a bit pricey, but, I will be willing to help if it's too much. The name of the place is Montien Thai Restaurant, in Founder's Falls. I figure while we are there, I might introduce you to my mother. The day we spent with one another really meant alot to me, but, I feel I may be still a bit fragile. I look forward to hearing from you again!
With love,
Kris

Dead tired at the start of classes, the next day, Kris almost didn't see the note. Reading it, she quickly ran to where she knew she could find Tony, and in front of a rather large group of students kissed him, without fanfare. Breaking from their kiss, she beamed and blushed.
"I got your note," she said a little sheepishly. "Thank you."

Tony looking into her eyes, arms still around Kris, said,"I guess maybe you should get more notes then!" A couple of the others snickered at the scene playing out before them, but quickly stopped with a glare from Tony.
For a guy with no powers, he was given a wide berth when angry...ever since the now imfamous "Biffsicle" incident, that almost got him thrown out of St. Joes. It wasn't fear really, since he was the first the admit that, in his words,"It wasn't a fight because I cheated".
"Just let me know when and I'll be there..", he said with a wide grin,as he lifted Kris up in his arms and started to walk. "Tony?...Umm..What are you doing?" she giggled. "Why, taking you to class!", was his reply....

Kris smiled and immediately began to give safety directions to those they passed, "Alright! Be careful. Live load comin' through! Do not feed the cargo, and keep your hands to yourselves!"
