( you hear a loud voice of the commanding officer giving the mission briefing details. )


Welcome CVC Recruits and fellow Officers, todays briefing is on the Assault on the Rikti mother ship. It will be composed of two assault groups with back up resistance from our CVC members.The assault concists of...


(The briefing is interupted by a question from Angelique from the CVC recruits...)


"Will the CVC's be part of the direct assault on the mother ship sir?"

NO!! Your jobs are to protect the injured, and see to it that they make it to safety. You are not at anytime to directly provoke the Rikti from the main battle engagement. Leave the real fighting to the real soldiers...understand me private!!!

"Real soldiers sir? So the women will be takeing the front position, and the men will take up our rear...?" (the women recruits chuckle as the men grumble)

Check the attituide private!! Or you'll really will be on the front lines. "...Yes..sir..." (the briefing continues, with some comments from the men in the group."I'll follow her ..behind.. anytime sir".)


(On the battle field, the CVC recruits have their handsful. The first strike team Bravo 1 has had many casulties. Bravo 2 is in the mothership planting a warhead in the deepest part of the ship. There meeting heavy resistance as "Angelique" and another CVC recruit carry a member of the strike team to safety. The weapons fire from both sides is so thick...you could walk on the blasts.)
(Angelique hears a voice on the soldiers radio while puting him on the medics stretcher...)

"Bravo 1...this is Bravo 2...the warhead is set! When it goes off, it will be as if a supernova touched the earth."
"Bravo 1 ? Where's the detonator!!! We need that detonator!!! The bomb won't detonate without it...Bravo 1!!! Bravo 1!!"
"The chamber we're in is full with 1,000's of Rikti cryo sleep chambers, if they wake up...LOOK OUT! Aaaaaaaaahhh....."

(next to the radio on the shoulders chest that her and the CVC recruit weir carrying was a small device, blinking ready.)
(The CVC recruit looks at Angelique while holding the device.)


"I think this is the detonator we heard them shouting for on the comm. They can't detonate the bomb unless....Angel, what are you thinking?"

(Angelique grabs the detonator, and fly's into the sky with a sonic boom towards the Riti mothership.)

The CVC recrute shouts into the clouds..."Angelique...Angel !!! Are you Craaaazzzy!!!

(At the mothership entrance, two Rikti heavy turret gunners see a bright light streaking threw the sky,it's heading towards them at super sonic speed. The object dodges the gun fire as it approaches. The two Rikti heavy gunners charged the batteries for a super charged blast. The white light pauses for a moment just before the entrance..."An Angel Girl?" the Rikti think. Confused for a moment, they fire the cannons a moment to late. As ANgelique passes between them...the blast takes out the two Rikti and the turrets as they shoot each other instead.)
(Angelique chuckles at their stupidity and her incredible luck.)

"I think thats gonna leave a mark..."

(Angelique lost in the tunnels of the mothership hears the last bravo 2 team member call out.)

"Sir! are you all right sir? Angelique Marceau of the CVC reporting sir. I have the detonator...but your heavily injured, can you stand?"

"A girl! they sent me a little girl." The soldier grimises from the injuries.

"Little girl?...you haven't seen me eat sir." (the soldier chuckles)

"Ow ow...don't make me laugh"
"Ok little Angel, the jobs mostly done..all you have to do is place that near the bomb and push the button. You'll only have 30 seconds to get to minimum safe distance. Your Med Badge will activate when it detects the blast."
"But sir, you Med Badge is damaged!"
"Don't worry about an old soldier like me...now take my gun and, DETONATE THAT BOMB!!!"
"Sorry sir...I don't use guns, and your term of service isn't over just yet..."

(Angelique pushes his gun aside, takes off her Med Badge, slaps it on the soldiers chest, and activates it.)
(She picked up the detonator, and runs down the hall towards the bomb...)

"I see it!" (at the end of the hall is a room with the warhead glimering at the entrance of it. As she approaches, she feels the blunt force of a Rikit weapon hit the back of her head with such force, she falls flat on the shiny Rikti floor. Angelique slides across it a few feet before stoping and looking up dazzed at several Rikti. One of them knocks her out with his weapon.)

(Angelique awakes on the floor a few moments later, in the thrown room of the Rikti high commander. It overlooks the 1,000's of Rikti cryo sleep chambers glisoning like jewels above the intense light coming from the ships reactor.)
(The warhead has been placed near the edge, and the detonator is on the thrown of the Rikti High Commander, blinking. The Rikti must not realise what it is.)

(Angelique looks across the room at the detonator and up at the two Rikti towering over her.) (The Rikti high commander gives his epic speech of human conquest...)

"SQUUUAAAKK EEEPP OOW OWWW OP HE HEEE AAAAAHH..."

"I really wish I had a translater right about now.."(Angel says out loud.)

(The Rikti leader, proud of his epic speech of human distruction awaits Angeliques responce...)
(Angel turns out her pants pockets empty with a baseball in one hand...)

shouting... "Monkey, I AIN'T GOT NO BAAH NAAN NA'S...NO BANNANA'S..!!!"

"SQUUAAAANNNKKKKK !!!!" he replies in fury.

(Angelique looks down at the baseball in her hands knowing what she must do to activate the bomb and stop the Rikti...she whispers to herself...)

"Mom...Dad...if I'm the only one to stop them...I'll see you soon. I love you both..."
(she holds the baseball up high...)

"This last game is for all the people of Paragon City...PLAY BALL!!!! "

(the Rikti look puzzled as she throws the ball in the air, pulls out her basball bat and swings...)
(She hits it hard down center. The ball hits the Rikti leader square in the head, sending him falling back into his thrown chair and onto the detonator; activating it.)

(the bomb's timer activates...30 sec...29..28..27)
(Angel uses her baseball bat to keep them away from the warhead...)

"Strrrrrike 1" (a Rikti goes over the railing into the generators power cells)
"Strrrrike 2" (3 more Rikti go over the railing...)

(the reamining Rikti over power Angelique, and pull her to the ground, but times almost up...3...2..1..)
(she whispers to herself face down on the floor looking at the timer across the room...)

"Strike 3..your out. End of game monkey."

KABOOOOOM!!!!!

(back on the battlefield, they see the mothership light up like a supernova...)
(a soldier on the field says...)

"HOLY MOTHER @#$%^&*!!!! I hope none of our troops weir in there. We must've had a man still inside to detonate it. Did his Med Badge activate!!!?"

"I don't think it was any of our troops sir...all present and accounted for." (the CVC recrute that was with Angelique when she grab the detonator looks at the explotions dust cloud...)

"Oh God...Angelique...it was Angelique...NOOOooooo!"

(Angelique doesn't feel any pain...just a very warm, bright, light. She hears some faint, distaint, voices..)

"mom...dad...is that you...?"
"I'm sorry Angel...it's not your time just yet..."(she hears the gentle voices say)



-hours pass-




(a soldier clearing the rubble sees a large pile of ashes still cindering at ground zero.)

"Guys...we still have a small fire here, can someone get me a fire extingusher...what the...!"

(the pile of ash bursts into flames...a fiery winged form appears from it like a "rise of a phoniex". The cinders cool into a young winged girl covered in ashes.)

"HELP! we need some help here...we have a survivor! Angelique?...It's Angelique!!!! I don't believe it."
"Hang on little girl...I'm sorry Angel...it's not your time just yet!"


-after recovering in the military infirmary-


(the commanding officer approaches Angelique in the Infirmary...)

"Angelique Marceau!"

"Yes Sir?"

"The Doctors tell me your miraculous recovery...one which even the doctors here are calling a miracle of medical science, didn't come with out a cost to you. Your muscle strengh has been severly weekend, and becasue of it you may never recover the ability to fly like you did."
"Your ability's, and muscle strengh, have been weakend to a state that we must reclassify your abilitys from Tank, to Blaster."

"yes...sir..."

"If you don't want to return to the CVC..we'll understand...but, your act of bravery hasn't gone unnoticed."
"I'm here to officially give you this accomidation for above and beyound the call of duty."
"Congradulations cadet...you are now a full member of the CVC Cadet Elite Squad."
"I hope you return to full active staus soon cadet. I look forward to serving with you again." (salutes)

"Thank you sir...I mean...Yes sir."
"I will sir!" (salutes)
