Time to go home

Post by Sage Lupus »

Sage looked around the room making sure that he had packed everything and was ready. The dance was shortly coming and he wanted to make sure that he had left out his outfit for it.

Sage pondered on the dance and wondered if he should even go. At this point he was dateless and to be honest not feeling up to it. Left to his own devices he would simply slip out and find some place to be alone. A thought crossed his mind that he had to get Stasis to dance once and if nothing else show for appreance sake. After all the ladies of Quad 5 would be a lightness on his heavy heart and that would make showing worth it.

Mimi had some announcements about the school Sage thought it would be rude to do duck Mimi and not go. After all the Lady was so very serious but pretty when she smiled. The announcements might not be that great but hearing Mimi's voice was incentive to go.

Sage looked about and found his keys. Home was where he was headed, not to his parents, thank god he thought, but home to his granddad and the lake where it all changed. He wasn't sure what he'd find there but he knew he had to go. Life ended there and life begand there. Good or bad, Sage couldn't tell you even if you asked.

So home, he thought as he walked out of the room and headed to the last of his classes.

Francis peeked through the door to Sage's room, the quad he'd been sharing since his arrival and found it to look much like a typical boy's room, there was stuff everywhere. She noticed that Sage's area was clean and clear with nothing more than a small, neat, suitcase sitting on the bed. She knew if she was ever caught in here not only would she get detention for being in the boy's dorms but she'd be scrubbing bathroom walls for a week for skipping class to do it. She snuck over to the suitcase and slipped a small piece of paper inside. With that, she ducked out and whistled innocently on her way back to class....

Dear Sage,
I know I haven't really talked to you all that much in class or in the hallways but I guess I must admit I was pretty intimidated by the whole Kheldian thing. Pretty hypocritical of me huh? To judge someone based on rumors when god knows it doesn't happen to me every day. Anyway, I heard that you were heading out somewhere and that maybe I wouldn't see you anymore. So I thought I'd say this before you left...SJS is better because you were here , and will be a little darker because you are gone.

Thanks,
Franky

P.S. The tentacle thing doesn't even weird me out anymore...I mean, you should see Annie make snack food sometime.

The dance was done and things had wound down. Sage looked at the door of his dorm and reached for the knob. Time to go, the thoughts rolled around in his head. Time to go home.

Sage walked off campus to the end of the long driveway. He turned and looked at the school. A scarier place he never new, a greater place of hope and happiness he never knew. Sage looked at the darkened windows and the few students that walked from the party to the dorms.

Sage took stock of himself and made sure he was ready. He had said goddbye to his friends. Stasis, Detective, Mimi, the quad girls and a few of the other students he liked, even Jaygo. He remembered that he dropped off the paperwork to the nuns. Nodding to himself, he was ready to go.

Sage shifted and flew off into the sky. Holding high in the air, he looked down and hoped he'd return. Doubt circled in his thoughts for the moment. Shaking his head free of such thoughs, Sage flew off to home.
