A letter to Arrow Wraith
Kris sat in the Chem-Lab, waiting for class to begin. The night before, she had been present for Jade Rooster asking her best friend to go to the prom, and now she was sort of hung up on it. She remembered Arrow Wraith asking her if she had a boyfriend, or if any guys were interested in her, and she had told him that there weren't. He then commented that he'd like to ask her out sometime, and though she had said she would like that, it seemed like an eternity since she had heard from him. Suddenly it hit her! She would write a letter to Arrow, telling him about her not having a date, in hopes that he would take the hint, and ask her, even if it was just in a letter. Opening her notebook, Kris began in her graceful handwriting:
Arrow,
Hi! I haven't seen you, outside of classes, in a few days. I was wondering if maybe we could patrol sometime this weekend? I'm usually out all weekend long, so it won't be difficult finding me. Oh! Jade Rooster asked Lycia to the prom! And, I'm certain Jaygo and Stasis are locked in for that, too. Poor me, though... I haven't even been on a date, much less asked to a prom. =( Have you asked anyone to the prom, yet? Ut-oh! Advanced Chemistry is about to start. I need to go now.
Hugs always,
Kristin "Kris" Cerise Osullivan

...Jaygo. jeez. am NOT!
/grumbles in the corner about silly friends who say the silliest things in front of *everybody*, things which are patently untrue and false and total innuendo and rumor.

((Ooops! Forgot this was a general forum type deal... Oh, well. Damage done...))
Hey! How did you see that letter? That was for Arrow!
*The red haired empath's cheeks turn red with embarassment and more than a little shame for not being more careful with something so personal.*
Besides, I figured you probably were... I- I'm sorry. Please don't be upset with me, Stasi. I figured that, since Lycia has a date, if I get one, you'll need one, too! That way we all can have our pictures taken together, for photo albums and stuff. It was just stupid wishful thinking, that I shouldn't have even shared with anyone...
*Fidgets and looks at her feet, getting onto her own case about upsetting her friends.*

It's a high school... If we have other dances, surely there's a prom, too...

Oh, gosh! Now I feel like I'm in the twilight zone or something... An American high school without a prom? What did my mom get me into?!
Well, I guess I'll have to see if Student Government and the Administration will allow for one. And, if they do, then find out if anyone will help me organize it! *nods*

Arrow Wraith stood on the room of the boy's dorm, gazing across at its opposite on the other side of the quad. This might be one of the hardest tasks he had set for himself yet ,he thought. He closed his eyes, took a deep breath, then in one fluid motion raised and fired his bow, still with his eyes closed. The arrow flew straight and true, dispite the small container on it's sticky tip. Though the slightly open window it went striking the wall two feet above Kris's bed. The special glue would hold it in place for hours...or until pulled free. The canister held a simple note...which had taken a whole 3 hours to write and it said this: Hello Kris...I think you know that I've been wanting to talk to you since we last teamed...Everything I said that day I meant....that I wanted to take you out, that you're beautiful...all of it. But thing problem is you and I don't seem to be able catch each other...it's not your fault..really I know it's not, I keep missing you, I just can't take it anymore, I'm sorry....So I just have to try harder! I'm taking this shot...please let me take you out at least on one date, anywhere you want to go, just name the time and place...I'll be around this weekend, so just let me know...I just hope I haven't missed once again
Tony a.k.a. Arrow Wraith
He smiled, hoping she was still interested, he went back inside to go to his next class. He stopped at his locker on the way and found a note inside....

Kris finally returned to her room after the long day in classes, satisfied that, while the teachers weren't pleased that she was turning in research papers, instead of reports, that she was making them shorter, and getting closer to what everyone wanted. It was really hard to not discuss everything to its fullest, and she wasn't showing off. If she wanted to show off, she would rewrite the text books, and correct their errors.
Half way to her desk, the red haired girl stopped and looked to the arrow stuck to the wall above her bed. A tremendous smile lept to the girls face, and she giddily ran to pull it down, and open it up. Within she found the note, and pulled it out to read it. Moments later, she was bouncing and dancing around as if she had drank Lycia's entire stock of coffee.
"Yay," she squeeled with joy. "He likes me! He really does! I'm okay! I'm a real girl!"

Sitting at her desk, finally, Kris began to write again:
Tony,
Thank you for asking me on a date. You have no idea how important this is to me! I would love to go out with you, and figured we could go to City of Gyros, that is, if you like Mediterranian/Greek food. If not, we could go for chicken at Major Flander's, or if you wanted something upscale... Infront Steakhouse? I really wish I knew what else to say, except that I'm so happy, that I could cry. How about sometime on Saturday? Maybe around 4 or 5?
always,
Kris
Finishing the letter, she snuck across the campus to the Dorms, and asked the R.A. if she could leave the letter for Arrow Wraith with him. The guy thought about it, and said he would walk Kris there, but, that she had to leave as soon as the letter was delivered. Kris nodded, and did exactly as told. She hoped Tony would be okay with her first choice in dining places.
