The cells are dark, the only light through the slits in the door. A cot and some water. Four walls and cold comfort of knowing that this might be a place that people die in.
I can't believe i'm here. How'd i get myself in this kind of a jam. Sage thought to himself. More importantly, how do i get myself out.
Sage tapped on the walls and pushed lightly on the door. "It's hard, and strong." Sage muttered to himself. Thoughts of turning the door into shards of metal rang in his head. "That's the easy part, what's waiting out there, i don't know"
Sage wandered over and sat on the bed. His arms around his knees, sullen in his heart. Footsteps echoed from the halls, aswell as the screams of the others in the cells down the hall. "They'll come for me soon." Sage thought.

Sitting in the dark room alone, Sage reflected on his sitituation. "I suppose it could be worse." he thought. Echoes off of the shoes of the guards outside entered the cell, and Sage was accutely aware of what lay out there.
"I can't believe i let it go this far." Sage shook his fist and and sighed deeply into the darkness. "Oneday i'll learn." Sage took stock of himself. Not hurt, though beaten and bruised, he could feel his power resting in his chest. "Well, i'm not defeated yet."
Sage thought about his life before this little debacle. His days on the lake with his grandparents. Life was simple before his change. Life was easy and he was happy. Even school wasn't so bad. Those lazy days on the lake, before everything changed.

Off to his spot on the shore, Jason walked through the brush to his favorite spot. It was nestled close to the edge, a spot where you could watch the sunrise and still have a shady spot to nap in. A perfectly fit tree stump for his bottom. Jason crossed the brush and looked around. As he started to sit he heard something.
An explosion lit up the sky in the early morning. The sound of screeming jet engines broke the silence of the day. The animals near the lake bolted into the woods and away from the water. Jason looked up and could only make out dots in the sky. A shining light and a pack of black dots were coming closer and closer. The sound of gunfire and blasts of missiles echoed in his ears.
Jason ran to the lake shore. He stood and peered out into the sky. The battle raged above him. A shining for of somekind of squid was locked in a battle with the forces of the Arcanos, squinting his eyes agains the glare he could see the dreaded sky skifts of the Sky Raiders. Whom ever they were after must have been a hero. Jason knew this was trouble.
Jason startled as a missile flew past him and into his favorite spot. He ducked for cover and came up shaken. Laying on his back he looked up and saw the battle was so close he could almost touch it. The shining squid thing took a direct hit from the Sky Skift and began to fall. Jason stood up and ran to the water. Raiders followed the hero down and peppered it with fire and energy blasts.
The squid hit the water and sank like a stone. The combined forces of the Arconos squad and the Raiders flooded the lake with fiery death. Jason stood stunned and motionless. He had never seen such brutality. After a few moments the troops seemed satisfied with their work and turned to him.
"No witnesses." Came a voice from the robot hovering above him. A red light hit him and the came darkness.

Sage woke with a start. Sleeping in here wasn't advisable he thought to himself. I have to get out of here.

Sage woke with a start. Sleeping in here wasn't advisable he thought to himself. I have to get out of here.
A day had gone by. Sage sat on his cot the worse for wear. Though the Arcanos had tried break him and make him tell all he knew of paragon city and his own bond, Sage had stayed strong
Their words rang in his ear. They talked of the school and wanted to know who was enrolled and what the defenses where, the hows and whys. Sage stayed as quiet as he could. He couldn't let these men find out anything more of his friends and fellow students. He feared for them.
Sage knew it was time for him to breakout. He couldn't let them break him, not after all the things thats gone on at the school. All the friends he made, one very special one at that. Sage only knew that these monsters knew little of his bond and less of his gifts. It was time to get out and wreck some havok.
Sage looked deep within and pulled out his strongest form. A glowing titan of strength and power. Sage felt the door, looking for it's weakness as he was taugh in class. Raising his arm back, ready to smash the door down, Sage paused. "I can be such an idiot."
Sage concentrated and pulled his power inside of himself. A ghost, he walked through the door. No one was there. Sage dropped his intangable form and drew a cloak of stealth around him. "I can't leave all that information here." he thought to himself.
Sage walked softly down the hallways and found the room where he was, interagated. Computers sat along the wall. Sage crept into the room and moved over to the computers. Swiftly he began to delete all the information in them. Time was not on his side. A clicking sound of a gun met his ears. Turning quickly Sage realized this would have to be done quick and dirty.
The guards lay around his feet and the computer lay in ruins. "Well, it's not perfect but it should be enough for now. Time to get back to school and let the prinicpal know what's going on." Flying out of the room Sage headed for the exit.
They bright sun blinding him for abit. Once it faded Sage realized he wasn't in the Rouge Isles like he feared he was. Warbrug, a blasted place in what seemed to be the eternal war between good and evil lay before him. Sage cleared the cobwebs from his brain and looked around. Seeing his way home he took off, flying low and fast.
Alarms rang in the distance. Energy bolts flew around him, shouts from the scientist rang in the distance. Sage flew faster than he ever did before, heading for the safety of the boat filled with Longbow. Those archanos wouldn't give up. Sage saw the boat then felt the pain. Skipping along the water, his life flashed back as the water covered his head.
-------------------------------
A voice in his head, something calling him. No, just let it go. There's release ahead, don't turn back, don't listen. A voice, louder, calling. Don't listen. Don't turn back. Freedom is a step away. The voice got louder and louder. Sage opened his eyes and looked around. He felt something in his hand. Something sharp, a gem.
The voice beconded to him. Jason heard him, heard his words, felt his pain and all the years behind that voice. That voice told him there was only one way. Jason knew it was true, felt the honesty in it's words. His eyes closed he could see the shining form before him. It reached out it's hand. "You will have my power, my voice, my life and for that i will save yours. All i ask is you use what i give you to battle the evil that you know works in the shadows. You know me as i know you. Choose."
Jason awoke with a start. Smelling salts have to be the worst way to wake up that he could think of at this point. He opened his eyes and looked into the face of his grandfather. His grandfather smiled at him.
"Jason, i thought you were dead." his grandfather cried.
"Not Jason, Sage." Jason didn't smile, simply looked up into the sky and knew that his life as Jason was over and that Sage Lupus had hard task ahead of him.
-----------------------------------------
'He's not dead, but he looks like a drowned rat." Voices floated in and Sage woke up. The light was painfull but he had to know where he was, he couldn't be back there. He couldn't.
Looking around he saw the face of the school nurse and the dean. He was back where he belonged. "We have to talk. There is much i have to tell you."
