Sitting on her bed Kali writes in her notebook.
As much as she sees Jack through out the day she still writes Him a note to give Him before classes every morning.

Hey Hun,
Guess what! The most awesomest thing happened tonight ! I got a new roomie! Can You believe it??
Her name is Dani , shes totally cool , and she doesn't mind the barbie heads one bit!
Shes got a great collection of CDs too and shes even bringing a new DVD player so we can watch movies!
Everyone that met her last night absolutley LOVED her!
I can't wait for you 2 to meet.... this is gonna be the bestest year ever!

Oh and know what else? She was sooooo excited when she found out I might be in Cheer Squad! i might see if Franky will let her try out too!
Jasmine will love her i just know it!

Anyways .. see You after class!

She finnishes up by bordering the notebook with little hearts in assorted colors and folds the note neatly.
Tomorrow morning she can't wait to see how Dani takes to her new surroundings.
heh she really has no clue how much shes gonna love St Joes

Jack happily reads the note and smiles a bit at all the colored hearts around the borders...

He is somewhat puzzled at the strange combination of this girl being excited for the chear squad, okay with the Barbi heads and the possibility of being loved by Jas all at the same time...

While the roomie will crap the style that Kali and Jack have acquired, he reminds himself that there is always the hotel.

Plus hey... new DVD player... sweet.

With a huge mischievious grin on her face , Kali stands in the check out isle again with sheets of posterboard , new markers and a can of flourescent pink enamel paint.
The cashier looks at Kali and shakes her head ,
" making more protest signs for DJ Zero?"

"Oh no no no.... definatly not , I need to be able to get back un there tomorrow night for the dance!"
Kali giggles

"Good cause the flourescent pink might really get those monkies fighting"
the young cashier says with a smile.

Kali giggles again
" nah Im making a welcome gift for Dani , my new roomie!"
she adds as she grabs her bags and skips happily out to head back to the dorms.

With Dani out of the dorm room for a bit kali takes the opportunity to set her latest plan to work.
Carefully she begins cutting the poster board into assorted sized hearts and proceeds to paint them all with the flourescent paint.

Across the front of them she varies between phrases which include...

Dani Rawks
Kali <3's Jack
Jack <3's Kali
Huggles
Totally Huggalicious

She then takes the assorted hearts and begins pasting them all over the walls on Dani's side of the room.
As she stands back and admires her work , Kali decides theres still something missing.
Looking around she grabs a chair to stand on , takes down a few assorted barbie heads shes had hanging from the ceiling and rehangs them on Dani's side .

somethings still missing Kali thinks as she looks around , the tip of her finger taps lightly on her lips.

With a big grin she turns and rushes to her bed. She ruffles through the assorted stuffed animals that line the bottom of the twin bed and grabs a soft plush panda bear.

Dani will love you Patches! she exclaims and rushes back to Danis bed , Straightening the large red bow around Patches neck and placing the Panda on the other girls pillow.

There! now its perfect! Kali smiles.

By switching genes off when they are not needed, cells can prevent resources from being wasted. There should be natural selection favoring the ability to switch genes on and off.

A typical human cell normally expresses about 3% to 5% of its genes at any given time.

Cancer results from genes that do not turn off properly. Cancer cells have lost their ability to regulate mitosis, resulting in uncontrolled cell division.
Much of our understanding of gene control comes from studies of prokaryotes.

Prokaryotes have two levels of gene control. Transcriptional mechanisms control the synthesis of mRNA and translational mechanisms control the synthesis of protein after mRNA has been produced.

Kali had read this paragraph in her biology book half a dozen times now and still was having trouble remembering it all.
"I hate finals. Why cant they be like T/F questions at least then i'd have half a chance of getting it right."
Kali is frustrated and tired. Shes definatly not the studying type which has resulted in her need to cram the week before finals.
" I miss everyone , I miss the hot tub , Pocket D ... I miss YOU"
she whines to Jack on the phone.
" I know I know... when finals are over I wont be so cranky and Im so sorry I havent been around much , its just I realllly have to pass this class and ... I hate biology... ok ... yea Ill see You tonight" shes smiling now as she hangs up.
At least tonight she could get out for a bit since the biology final would be over with.
