Letters From Annie
St. Joe's commitment to a better education for young superpowered individuals led to agreeing to host a foreign exchange student not too long ago. Annie Dromida, as her enrollment application identified her, is actually from the Tau Ceti star system. It was a pleasure to host her during her time here on Earth, and was a wealth of knowledge for the student body about life in other regions of the universe.
However, her father's work as an intergalactic liaison on superbeing affairs and a sudden occurance with the Rikti in the Alpha Proxima system has led to her sudden transfer away to her next school. She did, however, promise to write to the friends she made while with us.
Hi everyone!
I'm totally sorry that I had to jet so soon, but Daddy said that there was an emergency somewhere in Alpha Proxima, and that my new school was waiting for me. It's so sad too, because I learned so much while I was with you; Malls, shopping, the weakpoints in Council security layouts, and how to ask an Earth boy out on a date! And your planet has the best cheeseburgers! I totally mean it! Blargathian Oooglemacs just don't taste as good anymore!
So, I'm writing while daddy talks to some representatives from the Horsehead Nebula and we are stopped over on Zartax Station. There are over three hundred species here, and I've seen some of our own superheroes coming and going. I'm not sure if it's another award ceremony, or if Poltox the Grodie has announced another attack.
I hope to write again soon when something more interesting happens. I have to study my Zentozian Algebra now (you are so lucky that you only have to deal with three dimensional mathamatics).
TTFN,
Annie Dromida

Annie,
I'm not sure how long it will take to get this to you, but I thought you'd like to know...
There's been some sort of civil schism in the Simian Empire!
Apparently, a large group of them have left the directorate and relocated to the Rogue Isles... I'm not sure what it means but I thought maybe your dad might know.
Be careful out there!
Hugs,
Mimi

Simians
Mimi,
Oh My Gorflax!! It's so weird! For people as evolutionarily similar to yours, they sure are being grody to the max!
It seems that the split is growing, but I can't be sure because daddy doesn't like to talk too much about it. However, the Imperial Fist Simians seem to have taken a new base on your planet on an island somewhere. I failed Terran Geography, though, so I don't know if we're talking about the same thing.
Anyway, in other news, there's this cute Denibrite boy in the school I've been put in while things continue in the Alpha Proxima system. He's got the bluest eyes! I could just stare into all six of them for days <sigh>. I don't know, though, he seems to like this Hyralid cheerleader and she's, like, THE most popular girl in school. Maybe I can get him to help me on my Intergalactic Social Studies homework.....
Hope to hear from you again soon!

I have to tell Simian Surgeon about it... he's a good guy... err, monkey... well, at least when the others aren't around.
And I think he deserves to know.
Thanks for the heads' up, Annie! And good luck out there!

Another Letter!
Hiya to all my friends at St. Joe's!!
Daddy seems so nervous these days. Or is it stress? In either case, I don't know what's going on with him and work. The Galactic News said that the Rikti had been stopped before anything got too serious by the Nebula Nine, but I'm still stuck here at Alpha Proxima.
Anyway, It seems that X'irchip, that Denebrite boy I told you about last time, is a total barfbag. He's SO vain, constantly checking his antenni in the mirror and ignoring me entirely. Plus, it seems that he's got a thing for Geminian sisters.
So, since I've gotten a few questions back asking about what some of my classes are like. And really, the classes here and on other planets follow similar lines to how you do it on Earth.
For example; on Earth you have Social Studies and History so you can learn about the rest of your planet. Here at APSGY, we have Interspecies Social Development and Galactic History. In Galactic History we're learning about the Arcosian Ruins, a planet that was decimated by an unknown disaster hundreds of earth-years ago. Nobody knows what happened, but there are plenty of legends surrounding that sector of space.
Anyway, I've got to get to dinner. Jalintsian Crawlers, again. Ewww.

Annie

To Mimi, and anyone else at St. Joes who can get my message,
I'm scared Mimi. There's something going on, and I think Earth might be involved. All I know is that Daddy isn't going through just some stress, he's worried about something.
I started noticing more hyperspace private transmissions coming for him than usual 5 days ago. He trie to keep things private, but the door to his office didn't close all the way and I overheard a few words coming from inside.
"Arcosia" "Earth" "Danger" and "Emergency Directive"
I've also been seeing reports on the Transgalactic News Nets that many intersteller baddies are hiding out on Earth, but for some reason the Galactic Police are unable to follow.
What's happening on Earth, Mimi? Is there something that could explain why more and more of daddy's work is being kept from the everyone? It's never been like this before! He used to love to talk about work, but now...
Please, anyone, tell me what's going on. I'm so totally worried, my translator is freaking out as I write this.
Write soon,
Annie

Annie,
I will keep a lookout, but so far, no clear evidence of anything untoward... though I have been encountering more and more Rikti on my missions around the city.
If there is some sort of impending invasion, maybe my friend Surgeon inside the Simian Defense Force will know something. I can ask, but sometimes he is really tight-lipped about stuff.
In other news, you will be happy to learn that we have had a great influx of new students... I will pass on your warning to everyone and maybe if we all put our heads together, we can puzzle this out.
Take care!
Mimi

The following message somehow found it's way into the email inboxes of the staff at St. Joes. We, the faculty, feel it is important that the student body be aware of events outside of our hallowed halls; and you cannot learn to be true heroes if we filter and protect you from what might be serious events transpiring.
I don't know who'll get this, and I hope things aren't as bad as they seem.
Some students from Alpha Proxima have gone missing, and there are rumors that they might be heading to Earth. They were so mean and grody, and were constant pains in the <thorax>. It's not like I'm worried about them, though; it's the reason they're going to Earth that's got me having a cow.
I overheard some of the girls talking before class, and one of them had talked to one of the boys right before he split the scene. He was bragging that "Lord Recluse was going to make him a someone, and most Humans are just squishy watersacks anyway."
Who is Lord Recluse? I haven't heard of him on the News Nets, is he from your planet?
I gotta go, my teacher is coming and I'll get in trouble if he finds we sending an interstellar message. I hope I have this right...

Well, Annie, you've come back to some troubled times.
Recluse is some sort of tyrant in a small archipelego called the 'Rogue Isles'... he's also a super-villain. Maybe even an archvillain, if the stories are to be believed.
I guess there's been troubles with him in the past, but nothing like what's happened lately. The Rogue Isles are bubbling up over their borders and their motley population of supervillainous types have been getting closer and closer to Paragon... I heard they even swiped a bunch of 'Toys For Tots'!
You'll see. It's going to be hard not to.

((OOC: Since I've finally been able to return to to Paragon City and our dear St. Joeseph School, I'm going to close this story thread. However, I'm going to open a new one in a format a bit more appropriate to Annie as a resident and student. Any thoughts? I'd like to hear from anybody who wants to read more!
))
