The tone of Zia's voice and the actions taken are having an effect on Kali.
The dark haired girl steps backwards a couple steps.
" Dont threaten me Zia.... I ... I don't take shit off losers" Kali is trying to bluff her way through this. She doesnt want to back down but shes noticably shaken by Zia's behavior.
Kali reaches up and pushes her hair away from her face for a moment .
The crowd is beginning to grow and this makes her more nervous.
She glances around briefly before reaching out and shoving Zia back.
" Now get the hell away from me"

" I said back off Zia and I mean it!" Kali snarls .
" I thought we were friends.... whats your problem... maybe You should crawl back into what ever hole it is youve been staying in lately. "
Kali is starting to babble now.. the snide retorts arent coming easily anymore and she is trembling.
She has stood against many villians without backing away and yet she is scared now. Something in Zia's face scares her.
She averts her eyes tryin not to look the other girl in the face now.
" just let me through Zia , I have class to get to"

"My problem, Jade... is people like you."
There's no hiding the yellow glow that suddenly shines from behind her shades. The air tastes metallic, and there's an unmistakable warmth surrounding the two of them.
"You're just like the rest of them... lemmings falling off a cliff."
She moves her face closer to Kali's... the glow in her eyes is bright...
"Wouldn't you rather me push you over the edge instead?"

Kali isnt sure what to do. She stands trying not to look at Zia deciding it may be best to step to the side and do her best to pass the irrational girl.
Zia steps to the side as well. She doesnt say a word just continues her piercing gaze.
Kali looks up to Zia. Her onxy eyes reflect the yellowy glow of Zias eyes adding to the whole strange scenario.
Shes never seen Zia like this and it worries her but shes tryin not to show it.
" Knock it off Zia and back up. I dont need you in my face nor do I want you there." Kali tries to soud convincing as she stands her ground.
Zia steps to the side as well. She doesnt say a word just continues her piercing gaze.

"Am I scaring you, Kali?" she taunts, grabbing Kali by the shoulders... there's something hot to her touch... burning hot...
"Isn't this what you wanted to see? What all of you wanted?! The real Zia, the honest Zia, the Zia who shows her true self behind the 'wall of defense'???"
She pulls back suddenly, a glimpse of confusion on her face as she looks around at the growing crowd. She looks down for a moment, making a decision... and barely a split second later she looks back up into Kali's eyes. The burning hands on the other girl's shoulders start to glow warmly...
"Want to know something, Jade? The difference between me, you and the rest of these sheep?"
Kali notices the students around them slowly start to dropping down to the ground beneath them.
"While you all have been busy toiling away trying to learn your pathetic powers... I've been MASTERING mine! Y'see..."
She gestures her head out to the other students, who are all laying unconscious around them.
"I've been at this a LOT longer than all of you. I didn't come to the school to learn my gifts, I was FORCED here by those wastes of flesh who call themselves my parents. I came to the school with a full knowledge of my 'gifts', and what I could do with them."
Kali can feel herself getting weaker...
"So let's get something straight... you are in my way."

...and the instance Detective enters within 10 feet of them, his body starts to feel sluggish and every move requires so much effort and strength that by the time he reaches the two girls... his tug and toss fail to barely move Zia.
Zia doesn't bother expressing her annoyance with words, instead with the flick of her finger she sends a blast of radiation at Detective. It hits so hard and fast that he is flung clear across the courtyard, sending him crashing through a window.
"Bug."
She turns her attention back to Kali as if the interruption had never happened.

... and is greeted with some hits from Kali.
Her shades go flying, unleashing the full glow from her eyes. Another hit, but she doesn't even flinch. She looks to the distance at her shades, then back to Kali.... and starts lifting from the ground like a marionette on strings, arms outstretched.
"You..."
There's anger in her voice, and it seems to boom as everything around them glows.
"Are..."
Kali can feel her whole body start to warm up.
"Boring me."
There's a flash of brilliant light...

Kali is blinded by the flash of light. Shes not sure whats happening but her skin is overly hot and she feels as if shes been pinned against the wall.
Unable to move and unable to see. her instincts kick in now. No more can she hold back , shes being drained and doesnt know how much longer she can resist. The black mist forms around her as she tried to shield herself from whatever is happening.
Her mind races , whats Zia doing? What about the others that are close by? She struggles trying to get at least a glimpse of what is happening.
Forcing herself away from the wall , she reaches blindly out in front of herself , she attempes to call the tendrils to hold Zia in place for her to find , but isnt sure she has managed. She tries to use her empathic abilities to read where Zia is but even that is blocked.

She feels like she is screaming and yet her voice is barely audible. Her energy is being drained at an alarming rate .

There is only the light and heat emanating from Zia ... Kali pleads with her, "Zia stop it.... what are you doing..."
Jubilation's voice echoes from the bright cloud, "...what comes natural..."
Kali falls to her knees. Detective tries to approach, but the field surrounding them makes his movements sluggish... like running on quicksand. He watches Kali fall, tries to call out to her... his throat is so dry...
And then, it stops. The field drops, the light fades. Detective's energy returns, but he hadn't expected it... he falls face first from the momentum. The students all laying nearby start to rise. All of the grass in a circle around Kali is brown and dead, and Kali... she's laying in the center.
Zia is nowhere to be seen... a couple of the students rising from the ground point upwards at the streak of energy in the sky. Like a shooting star, they would later describe it.
