Kris was taking a beating and a half, but she bobbed, weaved, and jumped like mad. It probably looked hilarious, all of those grown men and the Warwolf, unable to hit her, chasing her around the stockyard, but to Kris this was nowhere near funny. She was scared, and hurt. As she jumped, she could feel the deep gashes in her waist, and the bullet wound in her useless right arm.

Then, just as she had dropped another two enemies, and healed herself just a little bit more, the stack of crates she hid behind splintered in explosive furriness. A squeel of terror escaped her lips as she fel to the ground. Slowly the others gathered around, cheering the warwolf on, as he reached for Kris, and picked her up. Pulling his hand back, he arched his fingers so the claws woud either stab or rake deep when he decided to swipe at her. Tears fell down Kris' cheeks, and she prayed in her heart.

Please, send me my guardian angel. I don't want to die, just yet. Please, God. Have mercy!

A burst of pure energy hit the warwolf from behind, sending it flying into several of the onlookers and forcing it to drop Kris. A moment later, a warm light surrounded Kris, healing and strengthening her.

Lucia dropped to the ground, a few feet away from where the warwolf was struggling to stand up, and realeased another burst of energy.

It didn't get up.

She turned her attention to the onlookers, sending a wave that sent many of them sprawling. Most turned and fled at the sight of the young schoolgirl, eye's glowing brightly, wrapped in a nimbus of light. She moved on the ones who were stupid enough to stay.

A few minutes later, it was all over. Lucia collapsed on the ground near Kris, gasping for breath, but seemingly unwounded.

The nimbus faded, and her eyes returned to normal.

"Are you alright, Kris?
Where there is pain, let me bring healing.
Where there is darkness, let me bring forth a light...

"Lucky," Kris exclaimed, as she embraced her best friend. "Oh, God! Thank you! I just knew I was dead. And then there you were! An angel!"

Kris held on to her friend, and when she felt the strength was good enough sent out her light pulse of rejuvenating energy, to boost the morale and recovery of lost energy. She did it. She helped Lucia get her powers back! They were as whole as they were going to be for awhile.

"Q5 for the win, right?"

Lucia smiled as her friend embraced her. She was okay. They both were, and everything was going to be fine.

"Q5 for the win."

She quickly flew up to the roof again, gathering up supplies, and scattering the salt. Tucking the notes back into the back, she returned to her friend.

"Let's go home Kris. I'm exhausted."

Fin.

Where there is darkness, let me bring forth a light...
