Clues Or Obfuscations?

((Inspired by my entry on 05/16/06 in the Interludes Thread, this is an open thread, but is especially open to Detective, Sapphire Angel, and any others who want to take keen interest in Simon's past.))
Simon opened the armoire, and froze. The scrapbook his mother and father had kept was missing. He searched all through his belongings for it, then throughout the room. His adoption papers were in that book, along with his entire history, as seen through the eyes of his parents. He had to find it. Finally he found a manilla folder on his desk that wasn't his. Opening the folder, he found a scrap of newspaper from here in Paragon City.
"Amid destruction in Baumton, family suffers after initial onslaught"
The article was almost a page in length, but it detailed a particular family in what was now Boomtown having survived the initial wave of the Rikti Invasion, only to have lost one of their sons to a kidnapping. There was a picture of a young woman with a boy who looked like Simon, only with no chin hair. Something told Simon this was only the start of something bigger than he could comprehend.
Sitting down he pondered the yellow scrap, then picked up the student directory. Angel had said he looked like Detective, as had Detective, himself. Maybe he needed to talk to Adam again...
