Saint Joseph School

(( This thread is open for anyone who joins in the free run of the old textile mill in King's Row. This run takes place every morning before classes. ))

Joao looked down from the roof top at the group gathered for the free run. He had come a different direction so he could see how many showed up before they saw him. He dropped off the roof, turning in mid air to catch the lip to break his fall. He dropped a story, catching the window sill beneath him before kicking off, twisting in a back flip to land on the bus stop. Taking one step, he jumped off, catching a post just behind the group. He held himself there, close to perpendicular to the ground. His feet, slightly above his head, he held himself straight out, and waited for someone to notice his arrival.

"Holy hell!" Billi blurted. She'd seen him coming, mostly, but she hadn't been prepared for the aerial acrobatics.

She stood and stared at him, hands on hips. She was wearing her red-and-star shirt and her usual shorts with the high-laced boots. "All right, mister show-off. You expectin' me t'be able to do that right off?"

She had to grin, though. It WAS damn impressive.

Arly held back a snicker as she watched others arrive, staying in her usual half-faerie invisible state simply to throw off Joao's count of hands until the last second. She had to admit, while she was an excellent runner when it came to the regular thing, she was morbidly curious in this free running thing.

Nonetheless, if she was gonna run, she would need to be ready, so while continuing her invisible vigil from a nearby spot, she began some basic warmup exercises.

Joao dropped to the ground, landing in a crouch. He stood, smiling at the people who joined him. "Free runnin' is about speed, timin', endurance, and havin' a good sense of distance. You ain't can be afraid to take risks, and if you doubt, you miss. But if you runnin' right, you may well be flyin'. I'll run shep for the first one, so as no one gets skit on. Any questions?"

*stares*

"Only 'bout a million, but I learn better by doin' anyway. What's first?"

Billi jumps up and down on the tips of her toes, warming up.

"Easy stuff first, sera." Joao pointed to the staircase winding its way up to the old textile mill. "I'll meet you at the top."

Joao jumped up and caught the ledge of the second landing, and pulled himself up. He climbed the third flight, taking three stairs at a time, then jumped off the end, parallel to the wall. He caught the ledge of the wall, using the momentum to swing himself to the top, where he turned and waited.
