The Duel

Mighty Electron had simply had enough. Getting pushed around until someone needed to be healed or resurrected... oh, the life of a defender. Well, no more. Lucas was out to prove that he could toe the table as good as anyone, that being a defender is not a liability on the field of battle! Nobody would be able to insult his abilities after this... no one would second-guess him or dismiss him... he would finally get the respect he deserved!
He yearned for respect from others, but most of all, he wanted respect from Tara. He still couldn't believe she had said that the places she went were too dangerous... that she worried about him. But somehow those places weren't too dangerous for her? And weren't too dangerous for... JAI? He couldn't stand for it. He wouldn't stand for it. Not anymore. Those days are over.
Lucas opened the main door to the school and walked through, the cape of his yellow uniform fluttering behind him. He strode through the halls with a sense of determination, his electrical aura flickering brightly. He couldn't help but feel a slight sense of deja vu... he had walked the halls in such a fashion not long ago to confont the carib boy... and he would do it again.
He approached Jai's locker and the other students looked on, half afraid, half curious. Jai stood up and faced Lucas, speaking first: "'Ey, I tought we al'ready talked 'bout 'tings, Lucas..." Lucas clenched his teeth and said "No. No more talk. I've had enough of that for right now." He started to take off one of his gloves, and continued: "I understand you're fairly new here, but I trust you know of some of our customs?" Jai looked confused, and then it came: WHACK!, as Lucas slapped Jai across the face with the glove, and said: "I challenge you to a duel! You have defiled my honour and I will not sit idly by and take it. Not anymore. If you accept, you shall choose the time, place, and conditions, and we will deal with this matter like gentlemen."
Lucas grinned at the look of shock in Jai's eyes as he put his glove back on his hand and awaited a response...
