Saint Joseph School

Mieri pouted as she cleaned out the extra closet she had been using in her dorm “I can’t believe they have given me a roommate finally” she thought to herself. She pulled out a bunch of clothing a size too small for her and added it to the giveaway pile she had been creating. It wasn’t long and she had two large black trash bags full of clothing to be handed off, Mieri sighed to herself looking at the size two clothing and turned to the Mirror. Her hand moved over her body examining the new found curves and slight pudginess of her stomach thinking “you know a few hundred sit ups each day I could get back into these cloths.” She examined her face and the fullness of it and the lack of darkness under her eyes the seemingly smooth skin over her arms and legs. It was a far cry from the skin and bones that she was when she arrived at school the previous year. What a year it had been her first real boyfriend a new country a new school and a new friend that saw right through her destructive tendencies, now she was single and the new country was her home and the friend was a distant memory.

Mieri’s phone rang distracting her long enough to get her mind on more pleasant matters. When she picked it up and saw that it was Antonio on the line she plopped down on her bed answering it with a teasingly big sister way. It was an hour later that she was finally off the phone from her brother and was again distracted by the phone this time it was her doctor’s office confirming her appointment for tomorrow.

Mieri sighed heavily again wondering who her new roommate was going to be there where so many new kids she was secretly hoping it was someone she would get along well with. Mieri finished putting the rest of her clothing away into her now well organized closet and got the rest of the things she was getting rid of together before calling Alex to come help her carry the stuff down to the Volunteers of America drop box on the corner.

Sophie couldn't help but smirk as she packed away all her belonging. She was more than happy to have been taken out of temp housing and given an actual dorm room. The thought that her roommate was going to be Mieri also helped to put her in a good mood; not only did she like Mieri, but, both of them being from Europe, they had a bit in common. Plus, in her mind, she could have gotten stuck with several people whom she did not think of as kindly as she did Mieri.

She had just three pieces of luggage, as Sophie did not keep much other than clothes and other necessities with her; two average-sized suitcases filled with all her clothes, toiletries, makeup, etc., and her duffel bag, filled with both her Longbow training gear, and her 'street' gear. Once she had everything packed, she took one last look at the room, smirked, and left, with her three bags floating behind her.

As she arrived at Quad #10, she opened the door to her room, expecting to see a smiling Mieri. Instead, all she saw was an empty room. After stuffing some of her clothes and belonging into the empty closet space, Sophie flopped down on the bed and forced herself to sleep, so that she'd be rested for patrol that night...

Mieri looked at the time on her Watch (12:30 pm) “I bet she is already there I am such a bad roommate I should have been there to greet her” Mieri thought as she was rushing through the store picking up some soda and light snacks to keep in the dorm. Now that she has a roommate it might be kind of nice to sit and chat once in a while. Her only concern was that it was going to be someone she got along with and not someone who didn’t like her. The thought of that went to Kat and what if she had been in her dorm room Mieri shook her head and got that image out as fast as she could Kat had her own dorm there would be no reason for her to change . Right?

Mieri handed her bank card over to the clerk and left with her bags of goodies, the walk bag to the dorm took a little time because of the day dreaming that was becoming more and more common. This time it was of Rome and what the next week was going to be like. She was so distracted that by the time she came out of it she was standing at her door.

Mieri’s hand hesitantly reached for the knob and slowly she opened the door taking in a long breath before opening it to reveal who was going to be her new hopefully friend.
Mieri’s eyes light up with a warm happy expression the moment she saw Sophie sleeping in the bed next to her's. Quietly Mieri tip toed in with the bags hoping not to wake her up.
