Saint Joseph School

The question was raised recently about whether or not the in-game base bore any intentional similarity to the IC campus. In short, yes-- through the use of wonkyspace, I have tried to make representative areas of the campus that are more-or-less accurate. Are there only 2 classrooms? No, of course not. There are at least a couple dozen. But here's a few tidbits on the similarities and differences.

• The bunker is still functioning and contains many of the systems students with an SL use every day. The Alpha-Omega bunker did not shut down once the second Rikti invasion slowed down. It is still there and is used every day. IC, it is staffed by technicians from SERAPH and DATA, protected by Longbow agents, and any student with a security level has permission to enter it 24/7. The bunker houses the medbay (not to be confused with Doc Syl's infirmary, see below), the teleportation grid, the central comm server, and of course MEG. There are also many other rooms and corridors that are restricted: students cannot access them. These rooms and corridors and not represented in any way in the in-game base.
• MEG is located in the bunker, and the room where her primary hardware exists is accessible by students with an SL as part of the bunker. MEG herself is integrated into all of the systems of the bunker and into some systems above-ground. Most notably, MEG can see and hear through the security and surveillance systems inside Alpha Omega, but as no such systems exist in the majority of the school buildings, she cannot "spy" on students as they go about their daily lives. Exceptions are MECCa, where she is fully integrated, and the campus computer and communications network, into which she is partially integrated.
• The medbay is not the same as the infirmary. The infirmary, with Doc Syl, is above-ground in the main school building. It is not represented in the in-game base. The medbay is in the bunker and is staffed by medical technicians from the Paragon City Government agencies (DATA, SERAPH, MAGI, ELITE, GIFT). The medbay is integrated into MEG. The infirmary is not (with the exception of its computerized medical records).
• MECCa (the Mathematics, Engineering, and Conmputing Center) is one of the most modern buildings on campus, housing labs, computer facilities, and advanced equipment for study and analysis. MECCa also contains special habitation units for students who cannot normally occupy the dorms (fully aquatic students, students who exude toxic gases through respiration, and the like). MECCa and all its resources are integrated into MEG. Currently, MECCa is under construction in the in-game base, where is will be partially represented.
• The classrooms in the in-game base (namely, the lab and the magic classroom) are meant to be representative: clearly there are more classrooms than these on campus.
