Bryan opened the upper drawer of his desk; the drawer was filled with miscellaneous odds and ends that he had collected for the past year. This one drawer was the only place that the teenaged boy left an utter mess, the rest of his living space neatly organized and tidy.
He slid the drawer completely out of the desk and unceremoniously poured its contents into his backpack. The canvas bag along with his footlocker, a long garment bag, an old lettuce box (which he had gotten from Scruffy) and three long white narrow cardboard boxes were now holding all of his possessions.
The boy turned around and looked at the empty room and felt sad. There had been lots of great times in here but it when he got the notice that he was being moved to another room, Bryan was actually excited to get to know some different people. His current roommates were busy with their personal stuff; Andrew was always locked away in the lab, Jason was off jet setting and Jake was about to graduate.
With a heave, Bryan hoisted the backpack to his shoulders. Then began to stack the cardboard boxes atop the black trunk that sat alongside of his bunk. Once his assembly of containers was stacked securely; the boy concentrated on the stack for a few moments, focusing his abilities. Slowly the pile rose up and began hovering about a foot from the floor.
He hunched over the heap of his personal things and began effortlessly pushing the containers into and down the hallway towards his new room.
“Quad seven, ahoy!” Bryan laughed as he knocked on the door.
