Dark Date

"What should I wear? What should I wear?!", Valerie Bower shrieked as she ransacked her closet.
From across the room, Vesper watched Valerie freak out, shaking her head as she observed.
"Val, it doesn't matter what you wear, you're fine in casual clothes.."
"You don't understand, I need to make a good impression, this is my first date in a long time! I don't want to blow it."
Vesper sighed, and said, "If he likes you, he won't care what you're wearing."
Val smiled, and decided she was right. Ash wasn't one of those boys who based people by looks, anyways.
She threw on a tee shirt and blue jeans and flew out the window.
Tonight was her date with Ashton Prescott, a handsome boy from Bloodvine Academy. She met him the previous night at a party, and the two hit it off immediately. They like the same food, the same movies, have similiar powers, both lived in Mercy Island...
Valerie landed in an alley outside of a famous burger joint. "Back Alley Burger's: Just Say No to Hunger!"
She entered the busy restaurant, scoping out the place for her companion. She spotted Ash by his distinctive leather jacket. She waved frantically at him, and the two went to a table.
Ash was a very handsome boy, with short dark hair and a wonderful smile. When he asked her out, she was hesitant because he was from the Rogue Isles, but now she didn't regret it one bit.
They ordered their meals ("3 double cheeseburgers?", Ash exclaimed, "My kind of woman!") and ate. Then, the couple left the restaurant and started to walk to the movies. They held hands, talking about how they got their powers. This was the happiest Val has been in a while...
When they finally got to the movie theater, they tried to decide what movie to go to. Ash insisted that Val pick it. So, Val picked "I Am Legend", an action movie with Will Smith. Her and Ash shared a big bin of popcorn and one cup of Coke. While watching the movie, Val lay her head on Ash's shoulder and snuggled with his arm. The movie was very good, but then again, Val found that she wasn't paying much attention to the movie.
They left the theater, and now Val realized that this was the end of their date.
"Here, I'll walk you back to your room.", Ash said, smiling.
They walked back to the campus gates, where they had to say their goodbyes.
"I had a great time with you tonight, Valerie.", Ash said.
Val blushed, and kissed him.
"I can't wait 'til next time..", Val said, winking.
Val, still blushing and grinning, ran back to her quad, stealthily entered the room without waking up Ves, and snuggled up under her two heat blankets.
Life's really looking up, Val , she thought, and went to bed.
