Dear Mr. David Conrads:

This is official notification of the release of Patient 190529 from our estate. As the head of Paradis Asile, I am pleased to inform you that Miss d'Champagne has been returned to a clean bill of health.

On her arrival, Miss d'Champagne was diagnosed with Narcissistic Personality Disorder, Bipolar Disorder, and mild Schizotypal Disorder, as well as Anorexia Nervosa and Bulimia. On further inspection, we deduced that Miss d'Champagne's fits of grandeur and rage were caused by the incessant clamoring of the foreign object fused to her sternum. Although our asylum is known for our excellence in servicing mentally sick individuals with supernatural anomalies, we have little experience with those who have developed paranormal changes due to talismans.

We wanted nothing more than to assist Miss d'Champagne and spare her of anymore suffering, thus it was decided that while performing reconstructive surgery to Miss d'Champagne’s face that we would also remove the bell. Although Miss Champagne’s medical files had stated that prior attempts of removal of the object had proved unsuccessful, we wanted to give it a further endeavor while using some of the best surgeons Europe has to offer. Unfortunately, it was revealed to us that the bell had rooted it’s backside into the arch of Miss d'Champagne's aorta. Not wanting to put Miss d'Champagne at risk, we forfeited the removal.

We then made it our duty to find out more about the bell and to help Miss d'Champagne lead a happy life while living with the object. After contacting an official correspondent of M.A.G.I. in Paragon City, we spent several months of collaboration with Miss Azuria of Atlas Park. Scraped samples of the bell were mailed to her and her colleagues around the world. We learned that the object was indeed a sacred artifact used by the Incan people of modern day Peru. However, we were informed that the sample’s chemical identity consisted of oxygen isotopes unlike those found on all other metals of the Earth and Moon. We still do not know how Miss Bell came into contact with the bell during her time in New York; neither do we know the actual origins of the bell. However, we did learn that the bell, called Chhullchu de Qharichakuy or “The Bell of Courage”, was ritualistically used to inspire warriors into battle, which consequently would explain Miss d'Champagne’s inconsolable bouts of aggression.

I personally provided Miss d'Champagne with cognitive and psychoanalytic therapy to help her not only live with the bell, but to help her adjust to her new face, attain a healthier outlook of her body, and to develop better relations with her peers and family. To help her remain lucid in events of emotional turmoil, I have prescribed to her narcoleptics and a mood stabilizer. On her return to the United States, Miss d'Champagne should resume taking her medication and see a therapist regularly. She should also have her eating supervised and have frequent weigh-ins.
I would like to thank you for considering Miss d'Champagne’s return to Saint Joseph School. As long as she continues to take her medication, I will assure you that Miss d'Champagne will no longer be a threat to your institution’s personnel or students. Over the year that I have spent with Miss d'Champagne, I have gathered that she is a very passionate, talented, and strong-willed young lady with the prospects of bringing great distinction to your establishment. I also have high hopes that she will continue to use her gifts to aide those that lack the capability to stand up for themselves, as she has demonstrated here at Paradis Asile on several occasions. There is much potential in Miss d'Champagne, she just needs help in assessing it.

If you have any questions, please feel free to contact my office.
Sincerely,
Dr. Ivan Vachon
Head Administer of Health”

David Conrads flopped the envelope down on his desk and looked over at the silent disfigured girl sitting across from him. He smiled, “I always knew you weren’t entirely a bad seed.” He leaned forward with his arms folded atop the desk and papers, “Even after all those incidents, but you had to understand why we had to expel you. Fights with students were one thing, but that last incident with Mimi and Yulia…” His brow wrinkled, “…That was the last straw. People were hurt, property was destroyed. It was out of the school’s hands, it was out of my hands. You’re lucky you ended up in a mental institution, there’s always a second chance with those. It could have been over for you.” David shifted in his seat, rolling his head back to reminisce. “I was the only one here that wanted to keep you and I was the only one here that fought for your return. All the Sisters wanted you gone, November. Even before that dreadful event. Long before that.” David chuckled, “Can you believe they expected a school that houses teenagers with super powers to be violence-free? Impossible!” He returned his sage gaze to her, “After more than a year over-seas, I’m really glad to have you back. I doubt I’ll be the only one to feel thusly, but I can’t promise you that everyone will be just as happy about your arrival. Even the new faces you’ll see have already heard the tales and rumors; you have quite the legacy you have to remedy.” David deepened his stare, “I know you’re wondering, and yes, Yulia is still around. Withdrawn and aloof, but still here. November, with you back, you have to coincide with not only having our nurses personally making sure you’re taking your medication and maintaining good eating habits, but also to uphold a restraining order we’re placing on you.”

November finally reacted to his words with a look of dubious surprise, “A restraining order?”

David nodded and slid a contract to November, “In order for you to stay here, you must agree from coming within 100 yards of Miss Darek or Miss VanBuren.” November swallowed and gathered a pen. She sullenly signed and shook her head, “This really isn’t necessary, Dave.” As she handed the signed sheet back to David, he answered back, “But it is.” He neatly placed the contract and the Doctor’s letter into her student file, “We’re done here, for now. You may finish unpacking your things.”

November gradually got up and began to head out the office door when David called out, “Tell me, Miss Champine, does it feel good to be back?” She placed her hand on the reinforced door frame and softly answered, “We’ll see.”

ooc: I'm working on Bell's "new look". So here's a preview of something that I'll most likely never finish because I'm a bum and easily distracted. Think of me as a fat lazy cat.
