Roleplaying Supergroups on Infinity
Posted: Mon Jun 04, 2007 1:09 pm
There are a lot of other roleplaying supergroups on the Infinity server. If your character is not a good fit at Saint Joe's, or if you're just not interested in roleplaying a teenager, then perhaps one of the other groups might be a good fit for you.
Or maybe you're already part of our supergroup and are interested in branching out and exploring other roleplay opportunities? Many of our members are also members in other roleplay supergroups. Where possible, one or more "SJS Contacts" are listed for some of the supergroups in addition to the SG's contacts. These are members of SJS who are also involved in that supergroup, which means they'd be a great person to talk to if you're interested in it.
Some of these groups are also members of our coalition, as noted.
If you would like your supergroup or villaingroup to appear in this list, please contact a member of the SJS Student Council or leave a message in the Contact, Messages, and All Other Concerns forum.

Advent Guardians (Coalition member)
- Advent Guardians is an active roleplaying supergroup with a heroic theme. Its characters seek to make a difference in Paragon City.
SJS Contact: Sunfire Dervish
- The Asphalt Angels are an informal team of heroes operating out of the back of a shop in King’s Row. The group concentrates its efforts on street crime and protecting citizens and small business from the depredations of gangs and organized crime activity, but recently expanded their focus to include magical threats to the citizens, including the Circle of Thorns. While the Angels have a charter from the city to operate as a Supergroup, they remain a very informal organization. There are no uniforms, regular meetings, or scheduled patrol routes or assignments. Not all members even know each other, and some that do know each other do not know that the other is also a member. The group makes no effort to publicize its activities. There are as many reasons for being in the Angels as there are Angels. To qualify for membership, one must simply be willing and able to fight.

- The Fraternitas is a Vampire: the Masquerade group inside City Of Heroes. If you're looking for something unique and different, this might be the group for you. The group includes any Clan/Sect and is open to the general public on a discretionary basis of the author and the character joining.
- Hero Heights is a close-knit community just north of Galaxy City that contains a high percentage of meta residents.
- The Legionnaires are a large, active theme group with a RP sub-community, focusing primarily on classic, 4-color and golden age heroes. With regular costume contests and a ranking in the Top 50 supergroups on Infinity, the Legionnaires have been a persistent presence and will certainly continue to be. The Legionnaires are always looking for more “classic” themes in their members, but have no specific requirements for membership.
- PBS is an up and coming star in the world of media production and communication. Located in the Atlas Park business district, Paragon Broadcasting Service began through type and radio broadcasts, slowly branching out towards recorded viewable broadcasts from time to time. Connected to the PBS office proper is the local movie theater next door, and an old-time favorite, the Shenanigan's restaurant (two in-game RP environments in their base).

- Can’t stand yellow and black checkers? Maybe you’d look good in orange! PCSAR is another public-service supergroup with some nice roleplayers in their ranks. Voted Infinity’s favorite supergroup in 2005, PCSAR’s annual Easter-Egg Hunt is just one way this group gives back to the server, aside from free healing and buffs for lowbies. PCSAR requires its’ members to commit certain hours to being “on call” in Hazard Zones such as the Hollows, Perez Park and King’s Row.
- Looking for a way to give back? Become a Taxibot! The Paragon Taxi Service has its own roleplaying contingent (though it is not strictly a RP supergroup) and is loads of fun. Offering badge tours and friendly service is just a small part of what they bring to Infinity. While rides might be free for their passengers, they aren’t for members: a can-do attitude and required amounts of community service will be necessary to join the Taxis. The Paragon Taxi Service also requires its’ members to name themselves “Taxibot” and wear a dashing yellow and black checker pattern on one of their costumes.
- PUAD accepts heroes from all backgrounds that share a common thirst for knowledge and adventure. The Supergroup specializes in, but is not limited to, the retrieval of lost or stolen artifacts. They have a university theme, but accept toons of all ages. There are no costume limitations, or restrictions on origins/powersets.
- SJS Contact: Brianna Landers
- This SG was created to house high-level characters who are largely inactive. The minimum level to transfer into the Alumni group is 40. If you level your SJS student up to 50, and do not intend to stay active, please transfer him or her into Alumni.
SG Contact: SJS Student Council
- This SG was created to be a home for characters who are retiring but not graduating IC. The recommended minimum level to transfer into the Chronicles group is 40, and the character must have been enrolled for at least one year in SJS.

- Run by a priest in a renovated bomb shelter abandoned after the first Rikti war, Sanctuary is a setting based around characters who are at a turning point in their lives, and need somewhere to settle for awhile to figure things out. Conflict of this magnitude can happen to anyone, anytime. As such, characters of all ages are welcome.
SG Contact: Eternity's Chorus
- If you can't get the best, go with the rest! The Second Stringers is a not-for-profit organization that operates on U.S. Government grants and donations from private individuals. Headquartered within a former Longbow base, the Second Stringers pick up missions that more mainstream heroes might not have the time, or desire to attend to. Second Stringers is an "RP-Light" group focusing primarily on gameplay and alt-storage (read: an alt "stable.") A pre-crafted flexible "cookie-cutter" character concept is provided if the player does not have the time or energy (or desire) to devote to creating one themselves. Humorous characters are welcomed, with the understanding that humor needs to be balanced with maturity, especially when dealing with other members of the coalition. There is no activity requirement, although we would prefer members to remain in SG mode. There are no formal meeting times.

- Sometimes, when artists have strokes of genius, they sketch their ideas down on whatever it is they can find. Those sketches can evolve into something fantastic, inspiring, and something that takes on a life of its own. Sometimes, those sketches are the best work that artist can provide in his or her life.
The Sketchbook Heroes is a group that seeks to embody that in some small way. The Group was created by Michael Pechna, also known as the Thorn Hawk, and graduate of Saint Joseph's School. He created it as a group that takes in heroes new to Heroing, helping them to hone their skills, help others, and mentor young Metas that might not have that older person to look up to and relate to. Still in its fledgling stages, Thorn seeks to make it into a group of small, tightly knit heroes that do what they do best: The Right Thing.

Bloodvine Academy
- Bloodvine Academy, unlike Saint Joseph's, is not a school for charity cases, and that's how the staff and students like things. Located on a small island in the Rogue Isles but largely left alone by Arachnos, this school will accept any teenager from any nation if they have but two things: ambition, and the hefty tuition fee. "Special talents" aren't required, but if you possess any, the Academy will gladly teach you how to use them to your fullest advantage. Either way, students will graduate ready to seize whatever they want from life.
