THE LIGHTHOUSE
This my castle stronghold,
This my tower of Light,
Across the ship-bound waters,
Across the sea at night.
Through the stormy tempests,
and nature's maddened cast,
This light shines out above them,
To safely let them pass.
THE BIRD BY THE RIVER
A blackbird alighted with a call,
On the ragged boxelder near us.
My partner and I watched him,
The representatives of youthful curiosity
And he watched us,
The visage of ancient knowledge be it known and not.
We contemplated him and he contemplated us.
Then,
With a flutter of ebony wings we parted ways.
As youth and knowledge often do.
CHIRON MEDICAL CENTER, ATLAS PARK
Darkness razed by immolating thunder,
Set off, ripped asunder,
Angels wail a triumph scream,
A new soul lost into fragile dream,
Demons alight in expectant hellish scorn,
from Earth their wanton prize now torn,
Reaching out to reclaim,
thwarted when another came,
To the heights of unknown wait
to the peak of Heaven's gate,
Angel, Demon, Lord adore!
What I have left upon your door.
MY DRAGON
When in twisted, whispered, winds.....
When threatened by told and secret sins.....
I cry in helpless, tangled tongue.....
Bursting forth with retinue.....
His breath a fiery curlicue.....
A myriad emerges from the sun.....
Around me wrapping, gently wry.....
Comforting, holding, resting by.....
Then by nature's hand undone.....
INQUISITION
The smoke goes to heaven,
and the cross goes to hell.
