A trick with no name

[Blitzen]

"Tony's got a new trick up his sleeve." Sam said to Ves, skating to a stop with some of the local park kids in tow. "Ty's gonna tape it. We're like the cheer squad." She smiled up at her hovering friend before turning her attention back towards Tony.

[Nova]

Nova landed just as she finished "Aw man if I knew we were gonna cheer I so woulda broke out the blue paint" Folding wings back behind him he walked up to the rest of the small group wondering exactly what this thing was going to be.

[Time Lapse]

Kristen looked up in time to see Nova fly overhead. She stopped for a second, following him as he glided and landed in a fenced in park next to a few of her other classmates. They were all talking and excitement seemed to weigh heavily in the air. Then Tony flew past, wheels spinning, and then...


Kristen blinked, then got up off the park bench and began walking. She looked up just in time to see Nova fly overhead, and immediately took off towards the skate park after him. She saw Sam skate up and stop next to Ves as Nova landed behind her.

"Hey guys!" she called out as she ran up to the students. "What's Tony doing?"

[Anthony Kite]

Tony exhaled a deep breath and skated up to the crowd, looking a little nervous. "Hey, thanks for coming, guys. I just needed to video this to prove I did it first, but, uh, thanks for the support." He scuffed up his hair and turned to Ty with the camera. "I don't even know how to describe the thing. It's an inverted aerial with a double method grab... Guess you'll just have to see it!" He turned back to the group, chuckling shyly, and winked.

[Ty Cloud]

Ty turned the camera on, readying himself for the intro. "Hey folks! My bud, Tony, is gonna try this...uh... what was it again?" He chuckled and zoomed in on Tony.

[Anthony Kite]

Tony shrugged dramatically. "It doesn't have a name. Maybe you guys can help think of something?" He scanned the crowd and shot a smile at Sam.

[Nova]

Nova tried his best to follow along, lost to the terminology, he knew Tony would be flying through the air, and already his mind was working something out. He had named plenty of powers and maneuvers before, this would be no problem. For sure.


"Alright Tony! Lets see it!" He half cheered.

Seeing Kristen come along, he turned his attention to her waving with a bright smile. "Tony is gonna do something cool!"

[Vesper Fiend]

"If I'd known we were gonna be cheerleaders, I'da brought pom-poms or somethin'." Ves found a comfortable spot to plop down and view the action. "Go, Tony!" she called out.

[Time Lapse]

Kristen giggles at the mention of cheerleaders, clapping her hands excitedly. Then she gets into a rhythm, calling out:

"Tony!" ::clap clap clap:: "Tony!" ::clap clap clap:: "Sail through the air like you just don't care, Tony!" ::clap clap clap::

Satisfied, she smiles and starts clapping again, noticing more than one awkward stare.

"What? You didn't think there was a reason I made pep squad, did you?"

[Ty Cloud]

Ty walked up to Tony a serious look on his face. "Show us what you're made of, dude." He jokingly shoved him.

[Anthony Kite]

Tony rolled backwards a bit with the shove and grinned, catching Ty's arm. "C'mon. You can shoot from the deck." He turned and, with a wave to the crowd, skated over to the vert ramp and climbed up. He leaned back on the rail and breathed deep, waiting for Ty. He wasn't nervous; he was ready. But just the same, Tony was sharply aware of every nerve in his skin, the chill air, and the seams beneath his wheels.

[Ty Cloud]

Ty quickly climbed up, sitting up on the railing. "Ready when you are, man."

[Anthony Kite]

Tony nodded to Ty, took one last steadying breath, and dropped into the half-pipe. He made a few passes, gaining air. "This is it!" he yelled at Ty as he flew past, putting on some lateral momentum to make giant circles across the ramp.

Suddenly Tony blasted out of the far side of the ramp, spinning in the air like a cartwheel, his back arched, both skates grabbed behind him. At the end of the arc he snapped his feet forward to connect with the vert and slid easily down the transition, throwing in a rocket grab front of Ty to burn off some air. In another pass he was up on the deck again, wearing a broad grin.

[Blitzen]

"Holy cow!" Sam cheered, clapping her hands. "Tony! That was like... amazing! That's the sorta thing you expect to see off the high dive!"

[Nova]

Nova cheered at the display, watching how he almost hovered during the cartwheel, it instantly reminding him of something.

"That was awesome Tony!" He called. "It was like when, in the air, when it goes to catch something, only it was your board instead of another bird"

He finally blurted out his thoughts "You should call it like the Tony...Hawk! Yeah I mean how cool does that sound and with the wings it really works!!"
