If you hit zero, your buddies had ten rounds to get to you and apply SOME sort of healing thing - a bandage, tourniquet, healing spell, potion, whatever. But if you hit -10 before your buddies remembered you were bleeding there, you tore up your character sheet and went out for a cathartic smoke on the porch.
Interestingly enough, this is now a standard rule for the new version of D&D. :)

Or wile its all quiet and quant nothings going on and the DM rolls a few dice and looks at you and says "Hand me your charactor sheat" "Why" you ask promptly "Because you wont be needing it anymore." A farly standard responce.

Also known as "How NOT to GM a game." Unless it's Call of Cthulhu.

At any rate, the teleported upon defeat is something you would fudge yourself. There must be some delay, to give others a chance to rez you. But it can't always be a conscious decision...sometime you get popped without notice (hello Stalkers.)

The only things that have been confirmed are this:

A) It's a patch. (CoH Tutorial Mission.)
B) You can hack the Medicom ETS. (Manticore, Sky Raiders Backgrounders.)
C) It can be breached (COH Comic, Recluse.)

Wow, I'm just full of questions...

Lots of people in Paragon consider the Crey Corporation a legitimate organization. How aware is SJS's staff of Crey's... not-so-honest activity, and how do they apply that knowledge to their interactions with the company? Would they, for instance:
- let a Crey representative into the school job fair?
- allow Crey employees to tour the campus? allow the Countess? allow either to study information about various students?
- purchase equipment from the Crey Corporation? generic and/or specially contracted?
- dismiss a student's claims of Crey wrongdoing as nonsense? or perhaps the unauthorized actions of a rogue group in the company?
- punish students if Crey complained that they interfered with "lawful" Crey activity? oblige a police warrant arresting a student for a Crey accusation?

Great questions, if a tad sigle-minded ;P

Well, I always like complication over simplicity any day. So okay, I shall complicate matters a bit.

The Crey Corporation was one of the major donors to SJS following the Rikti Invasion. Crey, along with Hero Corps, SERAPH, MAGI, the rest of the boys in the basement of City Hall, and the Goodwell Foundation (later discovered to be a dummy holding company for Arachnos), all chipped in very generously during a time of great need. There were lots of donors, and lots of money-- but that was okay, because there was also a lot of damage.

Call it stupid, but papers got signed. There were craters in the campus. There was subterranean damage to power supplies and generators. That wierd ooze that the one kid sleeps in was spilling out and killing the flowerbeds. One of the dorms had been almost completely demolished.

And that is how SJS got into an uncomfortable relationship with the Crey Corporation. And to your specific questions...

Yes, there are Crey recruiters at the job fair.

Yes, sometimes Crey science teams are present on campus. No, student records are not made available to them from the Office.

Yes, quite a few pieces of equipment have a big Crey sticker on the back. Strangely, students keep pulling them off, so they're getting harder to find. I heard Biff had one that he hot-ironed onto his backpack, though. As far as contracting Crey for specific needs today? Only as a last resort. However, a few times in the last couple years, I would imagine it was the last resort.

No one is going to dismiss a student's claims. But there are larger issues going on. It's not that anyone is afraid Crey will withdraw its' support for the school, because SJS isn't hurting for donors these days. It's what might or might not happen if the Countess were to push a button she may or may not have on her desk marked "SJS Final Solution". They did install some generators.

Crey very likely would not send police to SJS with a warrant. It's unlikely Crey would do anything at all. They know they have their claws in SJS, however shallowly. They would not upset the balance they've achieved. There might be heated conversations in hushed tones behind closed doors. As to the students themselves, I would imagine it's more like the mob-- you're on the Green Line and suddenly a guy you thought was a civilian turns to you and hands you an envelope, "courtesy of the Crey Corporation". Inside the envelope? Well, inside is whatever is going to make you think twice before you blow up another lab.

This is why I love this place so much. Nothing's ever as simple as it seems.

Ok, things I need to know.

How seperate are the boys and girls dorms kept?

What's the security like?

Can a boy just walk into the girls dorms and look around?

Does he have to stand around outside while the room is called?

Hmmmm...in regards to Crey enterprises, isn't it implied that they don't do anything overtly illegal. It always struck me as one of those corporations that dabbles in the "grey" areas that might get them a slap on the wrist, a cease and desist order, but never really be anything that any court could arrest or jail anyone for.

things like:

1) Experimenting on people. Yes they do it, but there's a legal medical loophole that claims a medical facility can use experimental or drastic measures if your life is in danger and all other methods have been tried. (and yes, that's a real one.) Now, the fact that they may have CAUSED the problem that put the person in the life threatening situation to begin with might never get unearthed. ;)

2)Weapons development: Surely they make weapons, or hold Rikti weapons. How better to determine counter measures for them? After all, Crey science is far beyond the normal. They knew the possibility of the weapons causing this trouble, but per all documented research, the facility should have been able to withstand the weapon's discharge. Besides, anyone injured was saved thanks to Crey's advances in medicine. (see 1 above)

3)Overzealous Security: Well, with all of the top secret and above projects that Crey works on, they need a top flight security team. They apologize for (and pay huge hush money for) any damage to persons or property that may have been caused by agents that overstepped their bounds. They'll also be happy to replace any property that was damaged during the incident (see 2 above)

As for sending someone to arrest a hero from SJS, I couldn't see that, but I could easily see this type of interaction....

"Excuse me, you're Broadway, right?"
"That's right."
"My name is Terrance Johnson, I'm a representative with Crey industries."
Broadway steps back alarmed "What do you want?"
"Broadway, my client has security footage of you entering their facility in a most illegal manner, on the night of <date>. It's in their best interest to not create a huge deal out of this, and deface a burgeoning hero such as yourself, and by so doing bring unwanted media, and legal attention to both parties. As a gesture of goodwill, I'm asked to make you an offer...."

I just see them doing things in a way that's going to get them the least negative publicity possible, while in the background twisting the law to better suit them.

The boys' and girls' dormitories are across the quad from each other.

As I've said before, the original SJS building is sortof a big U. The dorms are the 'arms' of the U, and the original school building is the 'base' of the U. The quad would lie in the 'cup' of the U.

As far as security..? There aren't turrets or anything. There are nuns and teachers and other students, though. As long as it is not after curfew, a student can certainly visit the other gender's dorm. There is probably a "door open" policy that many private boarding schools have: when you have company over, you are forbidden to close your door.

Actually, I meant like a guard station or anything like that by security. Although popup turrets would be interesting. After all, you never know what's going to come knocking around here.

Thanks for the answers!

I have a question about the rooms themselves. Are pets (with in reason) allowed? and whats the policy on laying down grass? I havent done anything yet Im just...wondering...

Also is it one big room with a bathroom? or is there smaller rooms a kitchen and a bathoom and closests?
