The beginning.

“Hmm…wha…?” I heard something…. What was it? I look up and see the sun shining in my window on my garden I have holographicly hidden from the school and the church. ‘Oh well I guess its time to get up anyway’ I think and reach for my power plug. ‘….’
Where the heck is it? Did it fall? What that the noise I heard? Looking at my chest I don’t see it I guess it was. Wait… My hand…where is the metal plating for my hand? I look at my chest closer and I don’t see my outlet. Or my panel. “What the slagging….” I start but my voice is different somehow…what’s wrong with my arms? What is that? Is that…fur? I don’t have a mirror of I run to my ‘Bathroom’ which I keep aquatic plants in the tub. I move them aside to see my reflection and my hair falls over my face. ‘What’s going on?’ I brush it out the way to see myself in the water and I freeze. That’s not me.

“Okay stay calm… Do not panic. Remember what Sam said. If anything is wrong call Father before I do anything. I quickly called Father and told him what happened.

“What the hell do you mean ‘you’re a cat’??? You cant be a cat you’re a damn robot!”

Father always was loud. “Android. I don’t know why this is happening. I just woke up this way. I don’t know what to do.” I responded

“Alright look… We knew your Spark had fused to some of your systems maybe this is some sort of glitch from being with cat girlfriend of yours…” he sounded upset.

“Her name is Kalie, Father.” My processors briefly flashed back to our date the other night. Shaking my head I felt my hair move around me. “I have fur…and my hair has grown…”

“I don’t understand any of this. Gah get your metal ass down to Zach’s lab NOW boy and try not to let anyone see you. You’ve had enough problems at the school.” He hung up before I could say anything. He may be brash but I know he does love me. The fact he called me ‘boy’ proves it.

~~~20 minutes later~~~

“Alright lets get you scanned. Lay down on this table.” Father moved to help tie me down while Dr. Magnus started working on the computer behind him.

“Don’t worry Mana this wont hurt at all.” His voice was calming unlike Fathers, who could shatter stone with his sonic powers. “You finished Robert?” Father nodded “Good let us begin”

For the next 4 hours they ran every test they could think of on me. The only thing they found was that my Spark was now closely tied to my life support systems and memory core making a body transfer impossible. Aside from that and some strange changes inside that they could not identify I simply seemed to be growing fur and ears like Kalies only bigger. My hair had also changed from the bright sunflower yellow to a dark gray that matched my stripes and fur.

“I decided I had to get back to school. They thought that might best but to at least be cautious with revealing myself like I was.

I needed to find Kalie. Badly. I found her talking to Drix in the Pocket D club.

I felt that might be the best time to show myself to her. Drix might panic but he would keep his composer for her sake at least and hopefully not let anything bad happen. Drix is a good guy…cat…person. A good cat person, yes. Him and Nennya are good friends of mine and I hope after showing them this they stay that way…. I will skip the details because it involves Kalie getting sick, Drix trying to get me to drink and me sitting on a truck for 3 hours.

Needless to say when I heard Nennya was going to be at the hot tubs I asked if I could join her while Kalie went home to talk with her mother about me. I was hoping for some understanding on all these new…feelings I was having. But my plan failed. A lot of students showed up and I didn’t get a chance to talk much. Joni showed up… But then April started playing with my ears and she got mad. I wonder why though? I know she is sensitive about her ears…maybe that’s why. Either way…I think I’m going to go nap now. That sun beam under my window looks very inviting right now…

It hurts. What’s wrong? Oh god it HURTS!!!

I woke up lying on the floor of my room. I was sweating something. I didn’t know what it was. At the time I didn’t care. I was in horrible pain. I couldn’t think. I couldn’t speak. I couldn’t even scream. I think I passed out at some point and awoke later breathing heavily. Yes, BREATHING. I fly as fast as I could to the hospital. I collapsed on the floor and they helped me to a bed. I blacked out after that….

I woke up three hours later and called for a nurse.

“I’m so sorry about that before. Can you please help me? My name is” I began

She interrupted me saying “Mana Cannon. AKA Raphael. We know. After you passed out we found your student I.D. in your wallet and contacted St Josephs about you. They sent over some records about your physiology. Though from what our scans show there are some news things inside you.”

Pulling up her chart she showed me what they found. I seem to have fully become a metallic living thing. I have organs, a circulatory system, everything. Though the only remaining robotic parts seem to be a few parts here and there as well as my synaptic brain and my Spark memory core fusion where a heart would be.

“We are unable to determine what your ‘blood’ is, but we have run some tests and we can tell you this: your body fully uses anything you eat and converts it into energy that you use to function or fight with.” As she told me this she pointed to various things on her charts.

“That would explain a few things.” I said “But why did it hurt so much?”

“I would assume because it was the last few organs your new body needed and felt the best time to do it was all at once.” She looked down at me and smiled trying to cheer me up.

A worried look came over me and I thanked her for her help. She turned and left saying I was fit to go but that I should take it easy for the next few days. I decided that I should call Kalie at that point.

“Kalie?”
“Hello Raph, what’s up?” instantly her voice helped calm me.
“I need to talk to you about my…change. Something happened and I need to talk to you about it. Can you meet me at the hot tubs by your home?”
“Sure, see you in about…an hour?”
“Sounds good I will see you then.”

It happened again. Another change. This one did not hurt though. But after so much I did not know what to do. I ran away for a few days. I hide out under the cabin in Perez Lake. I could not face Sam and Kalie and Bryan and Ves and the others like this. Having it grow here and somewhere where I could be alone and meditate was the best choice I think.

After 8 days, 5 hours, 12 minutes and 34 seconds it stopped growing.

I had a tail...

~~~~~2 days later~~~~~

"Um...hello everyone..." I stuttered out.

After a few quick hellos I quickly went and turned my back to a wall but suddenly she came...Kalie...the most beautiful creature I have ever met. She walked up to me and jumped up and gave me a kiss and a hug and I have never felt better in my life...however short it has been.

"Hey Raph!!" seeing my tail she gives it a quick tug "What’s this!?" she cried out

"Ow! Please be careful its...still sore." I said rubbing the base at my back.

"When did you get a tail?" she asked

"A little over a week ago...it is why I have not been to school or to see you." I looked down at her and smiled weakly. She knows I cannot do anything against her. I am hers and she knows it.

Smiling back at me she said, "I like it. I think you look wonderful" and with that she kisses me again and we begin to catch up on the days and unfortunately the schoolwork I have missed.

You know...I do not mind being this chimera of magic, machine and beast.

Not with her by my side.
