Doctor David Conrads has been the head of the guidance staff for some time. His easygoing demeanor has led many students to start calling him Dave, and though he doesn't often correct them, he doesn't care for it.

David has limited empathic abilities. He can sense the quality and strength of the emotions in people around him. Generally, his abilities are under his own control, but sometimes, raw outbursts of emotion are difficult or even impossible for him to ignore. With his abilities, Doctor Conrads can discern lies from truth, coax hidden guilt from sullen depression, and reveal regrets from misplaced anger. He cannot "read minds," but he is so well-practiced with his powers that he is often interpreted as a telepath.

David has a particular fondness for birds of prey, and in fact he owns a falcon named Augustus. He sometimes flies Augustus on the quad, and his obvious affection for the animal has led to the popular rumor on campus is that David can empathically communicate with birds. There is also a persistent scuttlebutt that Doctor Conrads once fought crime on the streets of Chicago (or, alternatively, New York, Seattle, or Houston) under the name Raptor.

I would like to add the possibility that David Conrad has his own super-powers. As a school counselor, it would make some sense for him to have empathic powers. But maybe that is too "Star Trek"?

Ok, not be difficult, but I have since been to sleep and woken up again... I have been thinking that it is really more interesting if the counselor doesn't have superpowers... Like, he actually has to rely on his skills to help these kids, instead of having powers that let him do it more easily.

I mean, I will go either way, but it depends whether Conrad is a slightly stressed-out normal person, dealing with problems that he himself cannot really understand. Or if he is a more lighthearted because not only can he understand where the kids are coming from, but he has the ability to know what's wrong, even if they don't.

Either one is interesting to me.

I like the idea that he is lighthearted rather than stressed out.

I am sorry Mimi, but I must disagree.......I mean, how can a councelor actually council super powered kids if he himself can't see where we are coming from. *just my opinion, don't hate me*

Okay... so David Conrad has super-powers. Probably empathy/minor telepathy.

So, Wachabe, he's your creation so far... more input? Maybe write a little RP blurb about Mr. Conrad having a session with Wachabe... you have issues, after all.

Let's expand on some of these NPC's... creators need to speak out first, with others making positive contributions.

Doctor David Conrads is an empath... he can sense the emotions of the people around him, and he uses that ability to be an insightful, sensitive counselor to the students of SJS.

He also has a deep affection for birds of prey, and he is a licensed falconer. He has a falcon, whom he occasionally fies out on the grounds.

Many students misinterpret that Doctor Conrads can somehow communicate with his falcon, but he cannot. The rumors that he once went by the name "Raptor" is almost certainly unfounded.
