Salvation shook the girl's hand with a tight smile. "I can't imagine why."
Looking about the yard, she let go of Francis's hand and the smile stayed on her face. "Ok. Clean it up. I figure you've got about 5 hours of work and 2 and a half hours till sunrise and then I can't protect you from discipline."
She clapped her on the back, "Good luck with that."
And she walked back to her room, bare feet stepping over ashes and fireworks tubes. The yard was two shades lighter with all the ash and debris left about. A soft chuckle came from the nun's lips as she closed the door and put herself back to bed.
